I remember hearing about this but never saw the video. Good post and congrats to the cop w/ the AR15.

BTW, I also remember all the outrage by the media about him having a machine gun and how guns are bad...

Is this the same rampage where a brave law abiding citizen with his Concealed Carry Permit engaged the nutjob with the semi-auto AK, and gave his life by doing so, but by doing so, saved the life of the nutjobs estranged wife and son?

Yeah, this is the same incident. The CCW holder was a champion pistol competitor, pretty well known, but I can't remember his name.

Its just like a cannon

1) How the hell would he know what a cannon sounds like?
2) If he had heard a real cannon, he wouldn't have compared an AK to it.
3) I hate reporters.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh at the part where the cop jumps up on the hood of the cruiser....i'm sure that goes against most SOP for a court house shoot-out.

....Haha

And that is why we have AR15s in all our patrol cars...

I wouldnt want to be in a vehicle when you turn a corner and face a guy with a AK.

I know I sure as hell wouldn't want to be on the hood of a car either...

At least being on the hood would let him be on his feet and engage the threat much faster than getting out of a car.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Glad he brought it back.

I never saw this video. Good job by the marksman officer. Very scary situation.

Any peace officers here? A divorce/domestic situation is the worst to be in the middle of, right? Isn't there some statistics to back that up?

damn nice headshot.

this is bullsh!t though. the government should arm all police officers with P90's or some type of small arm.

Reason? It's the responsibility of the city or state when it comes to local law enforcement.

I think their level of firepower is enough. No AR-15 is going to stop a pissed off man from getting his shots in. Unfortunate.

Reason?

because now a days, it seems like all the badguys outnumber/outgun police officers.
and the city or state dont have enough money to equip all officers with small arms

No weapon or number of officers will prevent motivated ingenuity. These types of crimes can't be prevented.

and 5.7mm is some how going to solve that? Cops are better equip these days. I have never seen an officer that doesn't have a sidearm.

Alot of cops are not better equiped these days, many only carry handguns and shotguns, which are very ineffective against most types of body armor, especially at long range.

How many criminals where level III body armour? ALOT of cops these days are equiped with M4s.
