I'm going to canada this summer but i'm not sure where to go except to banff.
I've been to canada once.it was about 15 years ago and we only went to quebec because it was nearer
to boston than the english speaking part.
Since i've never been to the english speaking part of canada, i would like to know which cities i should visit, what i should do etc
Btw what's the best ski resort in canada? Whistler, Lake louise,...? (i'm already planning my next ski vacation)

as for english cities, visit toronto, ottawa, vancouver, & victoria
algonquin park, kilarney, french river, and the rest of central northern ontario for hiking/canoeing
(not a city but a damn nice place) go in early may or late august to avoid mosquito's..
If budget is large, go camping on the Nahanni River, located around 250 clicks nw of fort simpson nwt
Canada is a country not of its cities, the out doors is where it is all about.

The woods are the way to go, I reccomend you check out the "interior" of British Columbia. Its very nice, provides alot of good photo oppertunitys and can be quite relaxing if you enjoy alot of hiking and woods.

Check out victoria for sure. I also strongly recommend whistler for skiing, there's a reason why it got the olympics. I also recomend going through the south Canadian Rockies, very nice. Vancouver's alright, I would recomend the Greater vancouver area more than downtown Van City though, New Westminster has some nice areas. Really, not too many of the Canadian cities are where it's at, the best parts of the country are the kinda places where cell phones don't work, were you need to hike, fly or boat in. The outdoors is where it's at in Canada. Harrison Hot Springs is also a nice place, it's about an hour and a half east of Vancouver in British Columbia. I also recomend Fort Rodd Hill in Victoria/Esquimalt if you want to probe into Canada's military history.

Never been back east...hey Swiss, I do reccomend a stop on the island. It is one of the nicest place's in the world ;) If you do a search back a bit I posted some pictures awhile back now, I'm pretty sure the title was "bastardchilds home".
