I think it´s easier to act as real professional when robbing a bank the first
time today than it was say 20 years ago. Today they show "crime solving"
shows on Discovery all the time, criminals know what "not to do", also all
the information on the Internet etc can be used if they are intelligent people,
and do not believe everything they read.

Some kind of national anti-terrorist taskforce or just local police?

Yeah, have to agree with you there.

It's easier to see all the tricks and learn stuff from the other medias beside the newspaper these days. In any case, those guys really caused quite the damage and uproar in Stavanger...

What a shock, yes ?

Quite "usual" in robberies though. Usually a lot of civilian cars drives over them
and blocks the road for the police, in example on a bridge.

The violent nature of the robbers that led to this officer getting shot dead makes me think at least two of these policemen are Delta (the Norwegian one that is). RIP to the police officer. I never thought i'd see photos of Stavanger on this page as a result of something like this.

In LA alone...that happens probably ever 9-12 months.

yes it is uncommon even if we doesn't have a low crime rate....
but then again LA have a larger "population" than Norway :D

doesn't remember if we have hadd and police officers killed on duty before ?
but the Robers was well armed with kevlar ect, they used a truck to block the entrance at Stavanger police station.
the whole thing was over after 15 min, and a civilian police officer was hold as hostage.

If they find the guys, hope they find a good reason for riddling them in "self defence" rather than arresting them.
I won't mourn them.
That will send a clear message to other "players in the market" to calm down a bit too.
It appears that some of those involved in this robbery have been known to the police, including that ex-officer *******d that's been under investigation or sentenced in abstentia for the killing of a Balkan mafioso in Sweden some while back.
That some of those guys have a peace keeping background like myself, piss me off even more.
Like Clark Olofsson those guys have got repeated chances to better themselves and have always failed on each occasion.
If someone commits a crime 3 times in a row, especialy if that crime involves violence, keeping them in stockade costs more than what's the effort. Execution and cremation much cheaper, unless you jumble things and have the process going on for years as in the States.

Armed police action continues
Armed police forces were still patrolling the cathedral square in downtown Stavanger several hours after the Norges Bank office containing cash service NOKAS was robbed Monday morning. Police would not confirm rumors that some of the thieves were still in the offices.

Read this:
Policeman killed in robbery - 05.04.2004
Seven police cars remained in the cordoned area, in addition to armed police. Armed police were also visible on rooftops on nearby buildings.

The heavily armed presence, along with witness reports that there were more than the five or six robbers seen leaving, has raised speculation that some of the thieves may still be in the bank offices.

According to newspaper VG, today's fatality was the first time a Norwegian policeman was killed in action in just over six years. Only seven police officers have been killed on duty in post-war Norway.

3 Suspects have been arrested in Gothenburg, Sweden and are facing preliminary hearings and possibel being sent to Norway faster then they can startcomplaining about the welfare-system.

One of the arrested suspects have been indentified in the newspapers as an albanian with swedish citisenship, that is a career-criminal. Don't have info about the other two as of now.

Albanligan (The Albanian gang or something like that) aka Naserligan.

The largest and most criminal gang in Gothenburg, Sweden. Was named
Albanligan because most of the members are ethnic Albanians. Consists
of a network of scumbags from the former Yugoslavia. A core of about 15
people, and 100+ others. Their business is mainly in narcothics, both for
money and for own use. Also a lot of thefts. The network controlls several
pubs and restaurangs in Gothenburg. Typical "protection for money", extortion
and so forth. Also robberies (as the one in Norway) and so forth. The leader
for the scumbags in Gothenburg is (or was) Princ Dobroci, 38, a former pocket
thief, he is however held by Norweigian police, so there may be some other
dude in charge right now.

I take this opportunity to thank the Serbs who drove them away and the Swedish
politicians that allowed them to move here. Thank you!

However, blameing all albanians for albanligan is a bit over the top. I know plenty of albanians who would never do something like this.

Can anyone translate this story, I found it here: http://www.rogavis.no/nyheter/article1080698.ece

It was during a business trip to Düsseldorf, Germany last summer the Norwegian ended up in the strip club. The man claims to have winded up there unintensionally, to have been druged and therefore was peridiocally uncontious, "Dagens Næringsliv" (Daily Business paper) writes.

"The complainter can not specify how or when he came back to his hotel. He discovered that his card was missing and reported it to "DnB Kort" who blocked his account" This is how the case is presented to "Bankklagenemda" (A board that handles such cases among other things)

When the man came to he discovered that his VISA was charged with NOK 50.000 (approx. USD 7000) during the night. The business man claims to have been forced to sign or that someone has signed with his name and demands that DnB pays the bill (DnB is the largest bank i Norway)

Bankklagenemda doesn't find it probable that the man was tricked og druged so he has to pay the bill himself.

(Hope my English is understandable)

The later reports says that the police officer who was killed did have an MP5 in his car, but he was shot without ever getting to it.

Normal cops in Norway don't carry guns, but they have them in the cars in some of the larger cities.
And in smaler cities the cops are equipped with S&W .38's, the same gun the Police in the US stopped using in the 70's. The Norwegian Delta and local "SWAT" teams carry glocks and .357's if i'm not to wrong.

Can anyone find the shots from the surveilance tapes?

This is the Police officer who was killed, Arne Sigve Klungland age 53.

After what i've heard they used AG3's and AK's, they might have had other weapons to. And an AG3 and the FN-FAL look quite similar if i'm not to mistaken, and God knows how many different AK versions and legaly and illegaly made copies\conversions made in various countries.

But they really seem well organized and equipped, and they sure didn't hesitate to fire on the police, so i wouldn't be surprised if they've had some form of military training.

Is it just me, or is the far left robber on the third picture carrying a Steyr? Bad angle on photo, but from that angle it sure looks like it.

On the note of military training, Albania supposedly had camps up through the nineties which provided training to people. A few higher up peronalities in the UCK also received close protection training in Albania before and during the war in Kosovo. Go figure...

The robbers with bags of cash moving out of the bank.

Reminds me of the swedish movie "The Robbers" (Rånarna):

You are so right. God always wathces. Maybe that is the reason why Serbia is in the state that it is to day in.

Kind a sad that you must go to that low level and find joy in a police man's death.

So it would also be funny if a civilian bystander was killed? Are you sick? Do you need help? Want me to come over and give you the good old fashioned 2" x 4" treathment?

www.spyshop.no

Turns out this is where they got their vests etc. site is down due to that the police reckon there is a connection between the shop owners and the Albanians.

Yeah was a shock since it was my hometown.
