I heard that 2 "spanish speaking" soldiers were seen being sent into Sadr headquarters in Najaf today after the violence. Anyone hear anything else about this and will the US get them out of there?

Yeah it said in the washington post that the salvadorians were guarding the first check point to the coalition base when it was overrun. They couldnt hold it and some of them were taken prisoner and it said one of them had a grenade put in his mouth. You know what happens next.

I haven't found anything about it. The only news in the spanish media today are the shootings around the Spanish base in Diwaniya

I think it's a BS; yesterday I have see a news on German presse that some US soldiers "could" be captured in Iraq.
In the end it turns to be a BS.
Anyway the general situation is worsening; today the italian contingent has suffered 12 WIA and has killed 15 Iraqi.

Definitely thatīs a false news. I donīt know who ivented it, but it doesnīt help for things going better. And salvadoreņos soldiers usually donīt vigilate or stablish checkpoints in little groups, it would be a crazy thing. They are in a bigger group in the base of Najaf, together with spanish, and they have support strenght backing them.
