Does anyone know of a place that I can get an Australian army Uniform? I am looking for a shirt and trousers in DPCU, possibly some more gear. I live in the US so I need some onlne sites.

Cheers

Australian eBay or for specific bits of kit in AUSCAM try sordaustralia.com

Good luck if you're after genuine desert DPCUs- still a restricted item.

I'm actually after the non-desert ones.

One question on sizing. It is basically a number and and R, S, L. I guess that the letters are regular, short and long. Are the number centimeter chest and waist sizes?

Try www.brisbanedisposals.com.au for Austcam

and www.sasequip.com They have some desert cam stuff but i don't think it's genuine.

Yeah, Auscam sizing is in Centimetres.

Also, the sizes are for the dimensions of the clothes.. Eg: a Size 100R Shirt is a shirt with a 100cm circumference, not for someone with a 100cm chest ... if that makes any sense!

Why is selling The desert austcam stuff illegal?

Stores such as Plat-a-tac etc are allowed to sell the chest rigs and whatnot in DPDU (the colours slightly differ), but the actual Uniforms themselves are restricted by the ADF.

I figure the ADF genuine issue stuff would be highly protected, but it's funny that there isn't any companies making copies of the Desert Cam. Yet.

I'm not a storebasher mate, I don't know the legal side of it. And it's not just the desert DPCU, it's both.

I think it has more to do with the fact that it's new, and the current war it's being used in is the first times it has actually been used ... for now you'll have to settle for stuff like Bush Hats, and the Plat-a-tac Smock that are in the first colour variation that is no longer used.

I have seen issued stuff in a couple of Disposals, very used, and very expensive ... but it flys out the door. You have to be extremely quick to grab a hold of it.

Interesting.... any clue what size I would need? I wear a US medium regular or a UK 170-96 shirt. 170 cm tall and 96 cm chest. Those seem to fit me well.

the DPCU's from World Surplus only have S,M,L markings, but my DPCU's made by ADI are marked:

SIZE .107S

im not sure what that means though :D

cbreedon: if you're a 96cm Chest, go for a 100r Shirt. Do the same for your waist. Measure your waist, and then add 2-4 cm for your pant size. @ 170cm, you should get either a Short or Regular cut. You're probably safer with Regular. Long will be too long.

BillySing: DPCU's sized in S, M, L etc are aftermarket, and not issue. ADI is legit, and 107S is 107cm/Short Length

ive seen heaps of auscam for sale in disposal stores now , as for the mesurements i could never work them out myself and i used to wear them all the time(army) , you will have to either try 1 on or order 1 and see if it fits

Exactly what are you interested in?
If your after the old style DPCU's, then they should be easy to find.
Its the newer style with zip up pockets and velcro patches ll over the place that are a bitch to find.

On another note, i have a set of DPCU flying cams, 2 peice set that i was about to put on ebay. Let me know if your interested.
Might also be able to find a set of normal cams if you wish.
I have an after market set as well as an issue set lying around the place, just drop a PM.
