95 year old 3-Masted Barque in funchal

we have an damn old ship in funchal today the 3-Masted Barque Bark Europa she where launched in Hamburg in 1911. :) Europa is 30 metres tall and 56 metres long, carrying up to 30 sails on three masts. Made of hand-riveted steel today she sails worldwide on cruises, training voyages and charters. Barques are recognisable by the three or four masts carrying square sails on all except the aft mast.

Ive worked on her, shes beautiful hopefully they'll get the squares harbour stowed and made smart. Shes stunning when squared away.

She does southern ocean voyages, to south sandwhich cape horn and South Georgia! Its awesome to see a barque with the courses and stun'sails set rolling downwind on a beam reach.

But someone really needs to sort out her rust problems! those hawse pipes are shameful!

This, again, shows that a lot of awesome stuff comes from Den Haag/The Hague. Myself included.

It's even been to Antartica.
