I don't know what I'm looking at. As long as he holds the handle down it shouldn't matter what he used to pull the pin.... no?
Looks like he got startled when it "popped"...... what was that? Did he just not hold the handle down firmly enough?
I think he was in shock after based on how "calm" he seemed.

10 to 35 pounds. If you try using your teeth, it's more likely your teeth will come out than the pin. If I was carrying around a high explosive surrounded by a fragmenting container, I'd like it to not get pulled out by some random branch.

You ever see the commercial where guys are at a meeting and guy #1 says something and he's ignored and then guy #2 says the same thing but with some hand gestures and everyone responds and when guy #1 says "I said that" and they all say no he said "[same thing but with hand gestures]"......
no reason. *giggles*

I didn't even keep watching that it was making me nervous. He pulls the pin the proceeds to bash it against the ice. WTF. At one point it looks like he loosens his grip on it then take a few more whacks.
Tell me it has a happy ending.....

Are you sure those were Swiss soldiers? The vehicle that drove past them had KFOR on the side.
Sounds like they were having a blast (pun intended)

This look's like some Yugo invention.
You can put it in the glass cup too, and leave on the top of the partialy close door;)
Regarding this video, are you shure that is real hand granade?
We have in Serbia something called "Topovski Udar" in liberal thanslation "Cannon Hit?", wich is basicly training granade with huge charge but no shrapnels.
I'm asking this, because effects look like one.
Big bang and even tought it was in the water, you would ecpect shrapnels.
We also have offensive(weaker) and defencive hand granede(stronger), so do you guys have idea what it was?
Thank you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand_grenade#Design_and_operation
10 is probably more accurate than 35.
Mind you. Just above it talks about "cooking off" which from reliable sources is just a stupid no no. The fuse is just that, a fuse. Something inside the grenade that is burning. Not an digital timer. So there's no way to predict how long the time between the spoon flipping off and the BOOM. You might overestimate and lose alot of your upper body in the process. More likely, you throw it so it bounces around the room so the bad guys can't grab it.

It has been explained loosely or been speculated about it, but the popping sound: The spoon is hinged on the mechanism and is under tention from a coiled spring. Inside the mechanism is a pin/short needle-like device, called a striker. When the spoon pivots after you release it, it motions the striker towards the blasting cap inside, which is screwed into the mechanism. The striker hits the top of the blasting cap and ignites the delay fuse. On older grenades, it makes a popping sound and sparks might come flying (the way it does on the older Swedish M/56 grenade). If you havenīt used training grenades before you throw a live one, you might be easily startled, just like the guy in the video.
