The plant just opened this year.. Mercedes cars have been with police forces for couple of years now...

Thanks, it quite surprised me to see these kind of cars with the regular police force. In Moscow only special units (escorts) equip these vehicles.

Iran exports a lot of cars (be it original Iranian ones or French or Japanese cars made in Iran) but Mercedes is not one of them and it is only for domestic market.. this is bound to change in near future though.

they do, Peugeot 206 and Iranian Samand are also used by Iranian police forces... it is not convenient to import enough Mercs to satisfy all the needs of police forces in charge of security of 70 million..
