How does the grenade launcher sight on a Yugo SKS work?

You line up the back sight according to either the left or right indicated distance depending on whether you are using AT tromblon (big,fat one) or AP tromblon (long skinny one) But in reality you shouldn't be using the sight since if you've every fired a tromblone it hurts like hell, recoil is to strong. You should use ground or wall or something similair as base to fire, if not fire from hip.

This rifle is equipped with a rifle grenade launcher on the muzzle and a flip up ladder-type grenade sight mounted just behind the front sight. The grenade sight has three "steps" for various ranges. The sight itself is notched, like the rear sight of the rifle. I'm wondering if this sight is designed to be used as a rear sight when launching grenades. If so, what is used as a front sight? If not, how is this sight used?

it just depends on what kind of blank you use to fire the RG and also what kind of RG you are fireing. ive never had to fire one off the ground.

Top of the grenade is front sight, rear sight is gren. sight, you use left or right side depend what gren. you use , AT or AP.

I got one in my hand 4 days ago. I can't imagine how could aim with that gun+RG, pls post a pic.!

Go ahead and try it, the grenade flys almost the same way everytime, it takes a couple of grenades but you get used to the flight pattern and it comes naturally afterwards, the sights are pretty much ****e.
