Old BTR-50 made up to look like a StuG. I'm suprised they just don't go to Kubinka and pay them some money to use real WWII vehicles. Most of the Kubinka stuff still works, IIRC.

The BTR-50->StuG-III vismod is horrible, BMD-chssis has more similarities with StuG and would be better suited.

My real Educated guess would be that the film may have different screen effects applied to it later on. While it may appear pink now, add a little contrast to the footage, perhaps with a yellow tint, and there we go, deep red :)

The BMD chassis is too small. The "Band of Brothers" VISMOD STUG that was based on the FV432 is better. Perhaps they should consider the BMP-1/2 chassis. Not to mention this miniature "Jagdpanzer" http://ochevidec.net/content/story5/37/23.jpg

Well, the good parts about our FABULOUS Stug are:

-it´s got six wheels (the CORRECT number)
-it´s got the drive sprocket in the front (the CORRECT position)

and the rest is MOVIE MAGIC!!

For anyone who knows anything about WW2 seeing MTLB in german colors is horrible. Saving Private Ryan also had a flaw in the end when a T-34 was used as a Tiger, but that one was at least masked a lot better.
