Answering my own question:
Looking through some old issue of Combat and Survival I found out it's probably Diemacos. At least in one article from the Ivory Coast, a french soldier has a C4. I don't think they're using both.

Think again. FN FAL  They never used the FAL :bash: :bash: :bash:
You mean the GIAT made (French company, FN is Belgian) FAMAS rifles (bullpups)? Yes they use those albeit with ACOGs, Trijicon Reflex sights, and other goodies mounted on Picatinny rails which are not standard on the FAMAS. Then they use Colts. The French have a contract with Colt. They use real M4A1 carbines with Colt markings. Not that Diemacos would be any worse (prob. a little better cause there is no real need for medium contour barrels, light barrel would do just fine, with fluting maybe). That's all.
FN FAL..... :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

OK OK keep your panties on! The reason why I said fn-fal is because, they(fn-fal) make m16 for the US military and I figured since they share a border and they are very friendly I thought maybe it was easier to get it from them! And to add about the gun being a C7, your mostlikly a canadian and I noticed every canadian thinks every m16styled weapon on this site is a c7 or c8! Which is fine but in order for france to get a m4 type weapon from canada it has to get permision from the USA and then the licience to build over there or some kind of permision from canada also. So most likely its a colt! plus colt last time I heard might be going out of business! Mostlikly you know more then I do and my knowledge military is pretty general (no pun intended)! So non of this :bash: and more of this :fork:

Where are their white flags? p-)
Being some of the only white people in the country, you can just pick up your fellow soldier and wave him around like a french fry.

Hey its a stupid question but I found out that the famas spits bullets pretty fast, and its considered a good rifle! So why is it that this rifle isn't wide spread sold thru out europe? If its a bad weapon let me know thx?

I think that the safety catch/fire selector is right at the rear of the weapon, behind the magazine in a switch form.
I'm not too sure, can someone confirm or correct me?

The safety was just in front of the trigger guard.

This thread title reminds me of that line in "We Were Soldiers"
Army Officer: "The Vietmanese beat the French Army."
Army General: "The 'French Army'? What's that?"

Sorry, have to correct you. :) The safety is right infront of the trigger, and can easily be operated by your trigger finger. p-)
