ok so how about.....a trip to the rain forest in South america...2 weeks what would you pack...
Ask your mom..seriously, you have some experience from the trip to eastern europe - if you learned some valuable lessons based on that experience maybe you could cope with your own luggage.

Yeah, but it's not as if you're going into the rainforest. You're going to Buenos Aires, right? Just pack a suitase full of condoms and you'll be fine.

I'm surprised that a former USMC scout sniper needs help packing for a trip.

ok everybody, enough with the STA / echohund stuff.
Wheke C9 is correct. Pack UDT shorts, a flowered shirt, some boat shoes, tight jeans, a few polo shirts, some Puma sneakers, and some Ray Ban aviator glasses.
And a Detroit Tigers hat.

With STA PLT. 2/4.......dude.
pack between: 3-5 tshirts
3 over-shirts: (button-up or something)
a sweatshirt/fleece if it happens to get cool at night.
cargo shorts: 1 pair
hiking pants with the zip off lower leg sections: 1 pair
bio-degradable soap/shampoo
some bugspray for yourself
waterproof hiking boots: 1 pair
flip-flops/sandles: 1 pair
1 hat
and I would pack 5 pair of socks, but that's just me.
And I would highly recommend investing in some bug spray for your clothes. I can't remember what it's called, but you spray your clothes a few days before the trip and it will repell mosquitos and stuff for about 3 weeks or so. Great stuff.

The rain forest in South America.
I'd say you wouldn't be hurt to bring along a Katadyn water filtration unit, camelbak and a grab bag of powerbars.

Maybe pick up a good cheap knife for the woods before you go into them when your down there.
A quickclot pack and/or emergency bandage wouldn't hurt either just in case. Sh** does happen.

compass, 550 cord, small flashlight, map, money to pay off rebels, whatever.................
YAAAAA!!!!............Thanks SnakebiteLeader!!!!

Oh yeah, a poncho. You'll need one of those. Preferably one that's lightweight and stows easily.

Depends on what sort of trip and what sort of rainforest - if you are going solo ( and I wouldnt ) you take things you wouldnt normally carry on you if you were moving from one established base camp to another. Rainforest differ in stuff at low level is different from that at high level - one gets a lot colder at night for a start. Its a bit like me asking you what to take while walking in forest in N Armerica - the forest type differs from place to place.
