AUSTIN -- The president's most vocal critic against the war in Iraq was in the Capitol City Wednesday night.
Cindy Sheehan was at BookPeople on Lamar & 6th Street signing autographs for her new book entitled “Peace Mom”.
Sheehan’s son, Casey Sheehan died while on patrol in Iraq on April 4 , 2005.
“Whether you agree with it or not I think we should all be reading books by the families of people who’ve loss their sons and daughters in this war,” said Turk Pipkin who was buying one of Sheehan’s books.
His mother bought a house in Crawford where she and her supporters often protests near President George Bush’s ranch.
“What I really hope to do with it is to inspire people to do what they can to make the world a better place and to let them know that one person really can make a difference,” Cindy Sheehan.
Sheehan also announced at the signing that she’s a finalist for a Nobel Peace Prize.

If that is when the ole peanut farmer won it then I agree. He is from Georgia even. He should have stuck with peanuts. Besides politics though he is a good hearted man but he has become very senile in his old age.

Didn't Arafat win the peace prize once or twice? She's in good company.

Didn't Arafat win the peace prize once or twice? She's in good company.
He shared it with Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin.
"for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East"
Totally in line with the purpose of the prize.
"to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".
In 1973 Kissinger and Tho shared it for a peace deal. In 1978 Sadat and Begin shared the prize for reaching a peace deal Egypt-Israel. In 1993 Mandela and De Klerk...
So what exactly is the problem? Angels don't win.

If she wins it the credibility left is gone. Arafat winning it is a stretch, Sheehan saying she has dreamed of murdering Bush and the other wacky things she says, very said if she is even a finalist the credibility of the Nobel peace prize is out the door.

Why not? There has been peace in North Korea since 1953.

The Nobel Peace Prize has 'finalists?' How did she got to the finals? Maybe a field goal in the last period in the semi-finals against the Canadian peacekeeping forces?

"Finalist" ?
As far as I know there are no "finalists" only nominees, and its not that hard to get nominated.
Nominations for the Prize may be made by a broad array of qualified individuals, including former recipients, members of national assemblies and congresses, university professors, international judges, and special advisors to the Prize Committee. In some years as many as 199 nominations have been received. The Committee keeps the nominations secret and asks that nominators do the same.
Over time many individuals have become known as "Nobel Peace Prize Nominees", but this designation has no official standing [2]. Nominations from 1901 to 1951, however, have been released in a database. When the past nominations were released it was discovered that Adolf Hitler was nominated in 1939, though the nomination was retracted in February of the same year. Other infamous nominees included Joseph Stalin and Benito Mussolini.

Who else but this woman, an obvious media 'ho', would announce
their own finalist standing for a Nobel? 'Ho' may be a bit rough,
'useful idiot' would be much better. The media used her then
more or less dumped her.
If she wins the Nobel loses what little respect I had left for it.
It's nothing more than a political statement with a cash award.
