Shamil Basayev interview about Abkhazia

A lot of people don't know that Basayev fought in Abkhazia. CFR interviewed him and this week's episode is that interview and footage of the war. It is the most popular episode of CFR-TV so far, and you won't want to miss it. Check out out at:

Sure he's white so he must not be as bad as the Arab terrorist mutts but he was what he was... an evil person who got what he deserved but unfortunately didn't suffer as much as he should have. Who pissed in your cheerios this morning? We aren't supporting the guy! We hate him! I don't know where you get the idea that we are idolising or supporting him in any way. Secondly, obviously he WOULDN'T have killed us too, because we were in his house and he didn't. So much for that argument...

I think he is offering us some background about who bassayev is and where does he come from.

The point here is that military photos seems a bit too hardcore on the blue strong side.
In order to know your enemy you've got to watch it carefully, hell I know people that would have loved this clip and at the time they were on the FSB side.

It's not about liking the guy, it's about knowing about him. Dehumanizing this fat bastard means victory for him.

So just take a look spit on his face and then scan another topic.

There you go,
Basaev, born in Chechnya, was a typical bum until enrolled in Agriculture Institute in late 80s, kicked out shortly for consistent misconduct and near criminal behavior. Shortly after found his place in epidemic of plane highjacks in Soviet Union, and specifically hijacked the plane to Turkey. Was extradited back with condition of no prosecution. Damn shameful mistake - he should have been shot on the spot in the airport right after arrival. During this time the wave of local conflicts took over Northern Caucasus. Basavev just couldn't resist to dip his hands in blood. Participated in several conflicts, got his first sadistic experience and retreated to organize his first hostage taking gig. The infamous capture of women’s care and birth hospital in Budenovsk. Was allowed to escape again to avoid thousands of women/newborn deaths. After that basaev was declared a hero of Ichkeria(imagenary state supposedly comprised of Chechnya and Ingushetia) by imaginary president Maskhadov. From there on basaev's hands got only deeper in blood, having women and children as a preferred bargaining chip and a bullet shield. In short, basaev was clinically sadistic maniac, a serial killer type with thousands of innocent lives on his hands.

You have got to be kidding me. We went to Grozny and got an interview from a terrible person, who we not only didn't support (while he was alive), we HATE just as you do. All this we did for your entertainment. YES, we are seeking attention! We're a company! That's why we exist! We make films--documentaries!

Simply interviewing a musician does not show that you enjoy their music. It's a part of a documentary. The idea is to get information from all sides and put it together so the viewers can see the obvious truth.

What I don't understand is why this clip upsets you so much. It's not as if I posted objectionable material. It's cold, hard, fact. Information--that's what people are generally here for. That's why the WWW was invented.

We aren't running a ****site. We create documentaries. Our director is not passionate about ****, he is passionate about combat and films. Not only is he not passionate about it, it is against hist beliefs. Besides all that, there is the simple matter that there are too many of those out there, and Military films is working fine; there is no reason to switch.

I don't know where you come from telling us how to run a successful documentary company. "U" can't even use proper grammar in your posts. I have nothing against that, but you certainly have no place telling us how to run our company, which mind you had been successful for a very long time. Have you ever run a successful documentary company centered around combat? Because we have, for the last 13 years I believe (not sure on that number, and the director is out right now).

Also, the interview is very old, and not everything needs to bring "NEW facts"...also, it is NEW facts to many of the people who watch it. Just because the information can be obtained in more than one place does not mean that they should all take it down.

Additionally, it really is interesting to people who know about Shamil, but do not know anything about his trip to Abkhazia. PLENTY of people have emailed us saying that they did not know he went to Abkhazia. So it IS new information to some.

Why do you care what our target is, for one? Our target is whoever is interested in our documentaries. We target especially people who are or once were in the military. We have a huge customer base.

What does it matter how many replies I got? Nobody wants to step in now, because you flamed the topic. It may have done a lot better if you hadn't. Or it might not have. Either way, what does it matter? You pull this fact out of nowhere and it doesn't fit the context.
