IMHO it looks more like the Sisu/Patria XA-series APC, which in turn was probably inspired by the Fuchs... and the BTR. ;)

Looks like another BTR incarnation to me.

So the engine is now behind the driver compartment? Thats a good move to put a nice big rear hatch for dismounting, I think the little crampy side doors of all the BTR series are a big drawback.

Looks like a BTR-80/90 but with big driver's windows.

That's a strange looking turret- really raises the vehicle profile more than necessary?

I think its a case of weighing up the pro's and con's, no turrert but lower profile or turret and some pretty sweet firepower :)

But what's the weapons loadout- a 30mm cannon and 4 x ATGMs? I wonder if the atgm launcher telescopes, or is auto-reloadable?

The BTR series of APCs came out years ahead of the German Fuchs, so why is anyone trying to say this looks like it came from a Fuchs? I would say it's the other way around.

Is the turret remote-controlled, that is, from the inside? That would be sweet.

I think they tried to make the BTR look like a Fuchs.

By adding doors to the driver compartment?

I think this is the westernisation turn morozov is taking for some years. their 120 turret bustle program, their exchange with GIAT (VAB any one!) and the recent turn in the policies explain this.

But I think this vehicle solves a lot of the common troubles CIS or Ex-Soviet APC's have. The BTR as the Soviet tanks has a fairly bad depression angle. While this is caused by the overall low silhouette design, this kills the ability for the BTR to exploit at its max defilade kills. This turret can allow its crew to safely sit behind a war or a ber and still efectively engage targets with i's guns and Konkurs ATGM's.
