It's a show that I think is funded by the EU to improve its image in Israel, they switch jobs of Europeans with Israelis for I think two weeks. The show is partly in hebrew and partly English.
Will work only on Internet Explorer, scroll approximately to the mid of the page to see all the videos.
The videos:

As for what they were doing, the Israeli officer in Poland was mostly searching for smmugglers that smmuggle ciggaretes into Poland. The Polish officer was going through weapons training and briefings.
The final mission of the Israeli officer was to stop an attempt to smmuggle ciggaretes into Poland in a car and the Polish officer had to lead a force that breakes into a bus filled with hostages.

Very nice...
This is a problem with a Polish Police - they seem to be afraid to execute the law...

I don't see why they would switch border guard with customs officer?
Well, actually I do.
Hell, next time they should pick the Polish mailman.

It's not a Police, it's a Customs Service (Sluzba Celna). AFAIK they don't even wear arms usually, however they have armed AT-style groups.

Interesting programme anyway, thanks for sharing. It would be greatamusement for me if a custom oficer greet me with "shalom" :D.

Which I think is confusing the Israeli Border cop a little. I only watched one segment (finding the cigarettes) and I don't think he really gets the notion that he's not in a "real" policeman's role. From the other side the Polish guy in Israel admitted this wasn't his usual "beat".

You're right, they should've put the Israeli guy in Straz Graniczna (Border Guard) which is something that would equal his usuall work. I wonder who got the idea of this strange exchange (Border Guard for a Customs Officer)?

the purpose of the experiment I guess is to make Israeli officers to takethe bribe more efectively, and Polish custom officer have a huge experince on that, no doubt in my mind

Thanks for posting it. I watched every chapter and really enjoyed it. Really human. Could someone post a short resume of what the israeli guy is talking on both phone calls? it really interests me but my hebrew is not that crisp? ;-)

Which service sees more "action"? I'd think they could have taken the Polish policeman and placed him with one of the Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem police stations. It would have been plenty different, yet still be police work - traffic, burglery, demonstrations and that kind of stuff. He'd get to work with everyone who makes up Israel - immigrants, Arabs, Orthodox, Pilgrims, punks, etc.

Are you talking about number 5 - "Ollo meets the flannelit?"

Aviram is commenting on how different (meaning less intense) his duty is compared to what he'd probably be doing in Israel. He comments on always having to wear the properly turned out uniform, especially the tie - the tie is alien, but he grudgingly likes being "elegante" With the people he's with, when they "stop" people they give them tickets and summons to court. He's used to the Israeli procedures (probably security related and not criminal) where to stop someone or to find a suspect means to bring them in now. He wants to be careful an not give the impression that Israeli police are too aggressive and looking for fights. Finally, he misses home.

All in all, I think Ollo got the better deal. The Magavnakit is hot too, but she doesn't tell her mom what she does.
