Says in the lower-right corner: 27 March 2003.
Just curious, how are you gonna react when cnn.com or foxnews.com or anything like that gets hacked by Arabs?

I probably wouldn't like it. But I wouldn't expect most Arabs to like this, so it's only fair.

Arabs want to hack CNN...go right ahead. Al Jazeera was hacked when they showed video of dead American soldiers on camera, they were executed, bullet in the back of the head one between the eyes.
That looks like someone made that page then put www.aljazeera.net in the address bar

Al-Jazeera, also based in Qatar, is an unusually independent voice in the Arab world.

yeah, right
Al-Jazeera claims to be the most independant and unbiased Arabic news network...my ass, Osama bin Laden hand delivers his newest tapes to them personally! That's also why they indiscriminately post pics of dead Americans to satisfy the arab thirst for blood and pics of dead Iraqi women and children to fuel more violence. If that independant and unbiased I don't even want to think of the rest...

About the story...it really pisses me off how the televised execution of American POWs gets little attention from the world and left-wing, hippie-****, burger-flippin, gonnorhea/syphilis-havin, haircut-needing university students while any harsh treatment of arab militant POWs creates a media ****-storm. F*CK YOU left-wing media!!!!!!!

The Arab media never really censor death the way Western media does, so it wasn't unexpected, but still unacceptable on their part.
Haha, hey SeanAshi, were the Arab viewers redirected to "hot-hijab-and-ankles.com or was it www.Burkha-****ers.com or was it www.Im-on-a-jihad-but-I-can-still-****.you.com???
Man I remember that like it was yesterday.. Thanks for the refreshment. I need a good laugh every now and then

Thats true... I'd never actually been to Aljazeera before today, so I went and had a look out of curiosity. Actually quite interesting. They certainly are not afriad to show pictures od dead people - arabs, babies - doesn't matter. Read a few of the articles, and was quite suprised - no political stuff, just the "news". Independent? Well, I guess their choice of stories might piss off some of the guys on this forum, but nothing blatantly pro-arab from what I read.
I can see why some of the photos haven't made the western media. I tell you what, if MY children had been turned into such mangled corpses, I'd be quite pissed off.... I know the standard response is "well, if you're not a bad guy, move out!". Thats just crap... I wouldn't want to leave my house to the tender mercies of the fighting groups, would you? Especially if I had nowhere else to go.... Note: this is not a political statement, but how I'd feel.
One thing I did like was they post news about whats going on - they don't wait until US troops die before it becomes "newsworthy"....
Mind you, I only looked at a few articles, and only today....

so I went and had a look out of curiosity. Actually quite interesting. They certainly are not afriad to show pictures od dead people - arabs, babiesThey showing pictures of dead babies is to gain international sympathy. Whenever Israeli babies/children are killed by Palestinians Al Jazeera wont show those pictures, because international sympathy would sway to the Israeli side.

Yes, obviously they are wanting sympathy  And clearly others will believe they don't deserve any sympathy whatsoever. Do they really not show footage of israeli dead? Wow, that is poor reporting...
Personally, I'm not interested in their politics - just the stories they ocassionally show which aren't in the "western media".

They do have intreting reporting, but biased and not fair and balance. Their poll question that they ask on their site 9 out of 10, will be a negative question directed at USA or Israel.

Just because a network isn't pro-american (FOXnews) or pro-Israeli as it's primary cause, doesn't mean it is publishing false info.
Not many news-agencys in Europe are pro-american, pro-israeli, but not pro-islam or pro-arab either.
And both sides are constantly complaining about many of the news-networks being bias towards the 'other'.
Don't forget that for many arab states Al jazeera are a sore thumb since it publishes a lot of hard truth, critizism and open debate - something many countrys will not allow in the region. Before the 9/11 is was a very populare newschannel for satelite-owners in the region, but many [arab] nations brought in complaints and wanted them stopped [for being anti-arab, -muslem, -whatever, all depending on wich state that was complaining].
Then they are getting, as being the most open newnsnetwork in the region, the Bin Laden-tapes before many of the bigger western networks and they get famous in the west [read 'non-arabs in the population'] - then they refuse to be censored, and they are thrown out of covering the stockmarket, get blacklisted at press-meetings [in the US] and labeled as 'terrorist supporters' by hard right-wingers.
All this just becouse they where practising what we are supposed to fight for - free speech.
Their refusal so censor Bin Laden-tapes (that could contain secret messages to terrorist-cells and therefor had to be approved by the US Goverment first...) is something I salute them for.
True Freedom of Speech is just that. True.
Does your country have it?
Al-jazeera is the most western of all arab channels

Ive actually taken to reading it on a regular basis now.
It seems though they are far more critical of american and jewish actions, yet crimes and injustices commited under arab dictatorships dont get much of a mention.
