So I recently read that Slovenia is among a number of countries that have purchased several units of the F2000 rifle, so I'm wondering, have any of you ever fired this weapon? and if so, what's it like? The one thing that interests me most is the computerised fire control system

IIRC Slovenia bought this 'clean', non-computerized version.

And no, I can't say anything about. Apart from that it looks bulky.

FNH is a great company that makes great guns, but I have to agree with Clyde-the FN2000 is just too big and bulky. Especially at the front end.

Never shot it but I handled it before. Like I said before to bulky. I'll choose an M4 over the FN2000 anyday. To me the trigger grip doesn't feel right.IMO

I like the fact that the shells eject from the front of the gun.other than that I dont know too much on the subject.

Part of the reason for the bulk at the front is that there are interchangeable modules for different purposes, so you can add a 40mm UGL instead of the current handgrip and it doesn't change it so much. Since most of the M4s I see on the TV being used in Iraq seem to have UGLs, you have to compare like with like...
I haven't fired the gun but I've handled it in various versions. I like the balance of the gun - empty, it balances nicely on the pistol grip so you could shoot it single-handed if you had to. I expect that a full magazine would make it slightly tail-heavy, but add a UGL and it'll be slightly front-heavy. Whereas a traditional gun like the M4 is VERY front-heavy with a UGL added.

There is also room for an internal battery pack that can power al sorts of upgrades.

Maybe we could entice the more knowledgeable members (Smglee, Tony Williams, Remov, a few others) to offer their views on the comparative advantages and disadvantages of the F2000 vs the SCAR(H,L)?
The FS2000 looks like a nice rifle to own.
(Yes, I'm prepared for the drubbing I deserve for asking :))

I've never handled the SCAR, but what what I've read about it, I think it is probably the best traditional (i.e. non-bullpup) military rifle available at this time. But, other things being more or less equal, I prefer bullpups :)

I can appreciate the advantages of a bullpup; just seems a bit unnatural to someone like me from the the US :)
PS
Enjoyed your article: ASSAULT RIFLES AND THEIR AMMUNITION: HISTORY AND PROSPECTS (http://www.quarry.nildram.co.uk/Assault.htm)
initial feedback said that the accuracy was somewhat uninspiring 2.5-3 moa. if i recall correctly something about how the thin barrel flexed a lot.
