Just a quick question.
I've been around for a few months now and from time-to-time have seen various members with "suspended for infraction" under their nom de plume. Now to me, this would suggest that a "suspension" would render the user inactive for a given period, but it seems they are still able to post things?

I have a feeling that I've missed something; either in the forum rules, or in plain sight, but could somebody fill me in?
My apologies in advance as this is bound to pluck somebody's nerves.

Well, infractions are issued by points to people who break forum rules, piss off mods, however you want to look at it. They expire after a week, but if you get ten, then your account is suspended until they expire. If you get multiple infractions, say...4 points one day and 6 the next, your account will be unsuspended when the point level is below 10.

I have noticed some people posting whose user titles say "Suspended for infractions" and my guess is that it's simply a setting that failed to be changed right away on a user's account after returning from suspension. That, or you and I just failed to notice they were suspended and posted beforehand.

Maybe some have the "suspended for infractions" as a custom user title but they are not really suspended?

Got an infraction right now for something pretty trivial.

You should have gotten a banning a long time ago.

Those who have suspended title and have an avatar at the same time are not suspended..
