Yesterday, I read an interesting artical about fifty Iraqi Citizents who had lost arms and legs from Saddams torture chambers. They were flown to Texas to recieve new and advance prostetics. One gentlemen recieved a sixty thousand dollar bionic arm for free. Regards of the US, but what I wanna know is if the thousands of American, British, Polish etc... soldiers who have lost arms and legs are recieving these prostetics absolutely free? I'll post a link later! :cantbeli:

As bad as soldiers losing limbs is, the key difference is that they by and large chose to be there.
Besides there are plenty of Iraqis who didnt have the fortune to be sent on a western guilt soothing junket.

First off, let's examine your statement.

"Thousands" of US troops who lost arms and legs? This is hardly the case. Please backup your statement with at least one fact.

The Department of Veterans Affairs and military hospitals cover all medical costs associated with battlefield injuries such as the loss of limbs. Prosthetics are included as well as physical and occupational therapy.

Well, polish soldiers dont lost arms or legs in iraq untill now,and I hope they dont lost in the future. But 2 ours soldiers lost legs in A-stan.They have 100% medic protection in military hospitals(for free, because they are soldiers).BTW few iraqis childrens are in polish hospitals(they were injured in air bombing etc.).Regards.

Indeed- wounded soldiers have most medical charges covered. Including for the most part prosthetics.

And showing disabled civilians is?

Yes, of course.... they lost their limbs under Saddam. So they are an usefull opinion tool.

Man, you're cold. You can't take a human life, whether lost or not, and turn into numbers - and still say that you have a conscience.

Maybe you don't have to lose sleep over the civilians who have suffered, but at least respect that they've gone through more than you or I ever will, and don't deserve to be "a useful opinion tool."

That said, it's the very thing that the Government is doing.

**** i think the bottom line is instead of making this a negative thread we should be applauding the government for helping Iraqis who have been oppressed for so long. This thread is proof that in the eyes of the extreme left the government is damned if it helps and damned if it doesnt.

I mean how many Iraqis are the governments of Sweden or France or Germany helping???

Well, not to start a flamewar (although it just might :().... but I'd be more impressed if the iraqi dudes getting the prosthetics were those technically classified as "collateral damage".... but then I'm not usually impressed by political gestures. I do think it's nice that those people are getting some help though....

It's called politics.
