Found the following article HERE (http://www.geocities.com/omogeneiabus/news-id200104.html). I translate for you:

Be aware and watch out on your financial daily transfers.
50 Kurus equals to 0.27 Euros!
Watch out on your financial daily transfers. The coin shown in the pictures above, is a 50 K (Kurus) coin (half of the NEW Turkish Lire). The dimensions are exactly the same with 1 Euro coin and looks the same too. If you don't pay attention, you just lose 0.73 Eurocent on each Euro coin.
Before the YENI (new) TURK (Τurkish) LIRASI (Lire) > yTL which replaced the TL (Τurk Lirasi / Τurkish Lire) since January 1st 2005, one (1) Euro used to cost 1850000 Turkish Lires. After the new Turkish Lire (yTL) and the "automatic" (?) delete of the six zeros, 1 Euro coin equals aprox to 1.85 yeni Turkish Lires (1 yeni Turkish Lire and 85 curus).
That means that just because the similarity of the yTL to Euro coin and the possibility to get a yTL in hand instead of a Euro coin, a European citizen could possibly lose 0.73 Eurocent on each Euro transfer. Seems very easy to be tricked and get the 50 K (Kurus) of the Turkish Lire as a 1 Euro coin. If this happen, you've just changed 1 Euro with 0.27 Euros (that's how the 50 Kurus of the yeni Turkish Lire coin really cost).
Cheers

Except the fact that there's no 50 euro coin.. just a big 1 or 2 written on the common side.

There are still 10 francs coins floating around, I was given one as a 1 euro coin not long ago in a bar, needless to say I immediately shown the change to the waiter, but it happens from time to times.

Except the fact that there's no 50 euro coin.. just a big 1 or 2 written on the common side. Will not be always able to inspect these coins during daylight. Remember that if happen to receive one of these 50 Kurus coins (each one costs only 0.27 Euros) instead of real Euro coins for change into a dark bar or nightclub for example.
PS. Didn't try it on automatic coffe machines yet... but I bet it works as long as the dimensions are the same.

Some other might say that it's an alternative method to get the given by EU financial "targets" and finaly be accepted as members into EU - I hope it's NOT!

What about the weight?
well ok sure there's always a risk but since there's both 1 and 2 euro coins why wouldn't the person not already inspect it ? it says 50 in pretty clear numbers...
Finnish euros (backside is different in all countries)

As you said, the "head" backside is different in all EU countries and could be very easy to be confused. No one will try to trick anybody during clear daylight or with one coin only! Check what Belial (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/member.php?u=8078) and Shadow (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/member.php?u=948) just said:

In norway there has long been trouble with a turkish (Jalla) coin that is similar to the 20NOK coin in Norway.
People have been caught with wast amounts of turkish Jalla-money at the borders. Claiming to be collectors.. "Yeah right...."

I love those two-piece coins. US coins are boring.

1 and 2 cent euros are useless coins, they should have been banned for a long time.

I payed for a beer partly in chezch money the other week. The bartender didn't notice my clever swindle, teehee. This might have been helped by the fact the it was ****ing pitch black in the bar.

I can't believe some greek MP.net members.:cantbeli: do you folks dream conspiracies? what a weak attempt.:roll:Dear Canadian2urk (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/member.php?u=25564), did anybody "dreamed" a conspiracy? This thread is about a "New Turkish Lire as a Euro coin fake clone?" article as found HERE (http://www.geocities.com/omogeneiabus/news-id200104.html) (said that since my begining post) and moved it here translated. BTW, I can't believe some Turkish MP.net members are so afraid if other MP.net members try to build "conspiracies".
Cheers my friend & please try to cool down and enjoy MP.net :) :) :)
