I agree, a bad front page to lead with.
I saw a short news clip with that guy, and he looks cool as fvck, i bet he's ex services, and i bet he is scared, even though he just looks pissed off.

I have to agree with Helex on this one. That paper is notorious for crap like this though.

Well, I saw the video of the event, and he didnīt look nearly as "cool" there,
I bet he was afraid, of course, I would have been certain that I would be killed
in a highly unpleasant way as well.

Well, showing to be afraid is the worst thing you can do...

What would you like it to say?
First: the picture is to small. Can't they get it to run across the back page aswell?
Also the use of the small font with the use of the word; HOSTAGE.
All this could have been done bigger and better.
And where are the paparazzi-pictures of his frightened relatives on the front cover?
To be honest: this is vulture-journalism at the worst.
Even if this Newspaper ain't bigger than it only is being distributed on two blocks in NYC, they should have known better.
This is scavenging on others misfortune. :bash:

If he is ex forces (as a lot these contractors are), he is probably pissed off about the fact he is being held hostage by some skinny kids with weapons, knowing there isn't much he can do about it. Given half a chance i bet he would kick their asses, but alas that option is not open to him in reality. I wish him luck.

What a load of bollocks, playing the macho hardman brings on the pain.
Showing fear may lead to some empathy, at the end of the day you're in the **** - pretending to be hard isn't going to help you out.
Keep your head down, shut the f*ck up and try to gain some empathy.

Funny how two different persons can interpret the same thing they saw, so differently.
I also saw that on the news. And to use a lame ass comment: He took it as a man.
That is of course stupid of me to say. Of course, if he is a sane person he is afraid.
But as I saw it, he wouldn't give his captures that pleasure.

I have to agree with that he probably is scared but at that moment he just looked annoyed, and the way he gave his name was military like

i refer to my earlier post.
The NY Post used to be a liberal paper before Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation ( Sky Television, The Times, Fox Network ) bought it. They then remodelled the Post along the lines of The Sun and News of the World, two British tabloids owned by News Corp. There is nothing particularly American about the paper or the article, it's just British scandal journalism transferred to another continent.

Yeah. Of course he was scared. Everyone would be. But he just didn't lose his head. On one hand that takes away possible pleasure for the captors, on the other hand it might also create respect for him by the captors. But anyway, what kinda confused me is the subtitle: 'US civilian'. I mean...who are we kidding. He's a US citizen allright, but a civilian is in my book a non-combatant. Someone riding on a military convoy with orders to protect it just isn't a civilian.

Isn't he the blind lawyer that has superpowers and fights crime at night?
