View Full Version : REQ DDR Units

Does anyone have any pictures of either of the following:

1) DDR Police SEK (probably not called SEK, but I refrain from calling them SWAT p-) )

2) DDR Special Military Units (if they had any indpendant units. I am guessing that there was Russian SF in the DDR, but were there German units?)

If anyone could post pictures, info or links, it would be greatly appreciated. I am mainly looking for Police units, but Military would be nice as well.

This photo is DDR spezialaufklaerung (http://www.spezialaufklaerung.de/), which from what I understand was similar to our (american) LRS units. That photo was taken around the time of reunification (1990) and I believe is of their last jump (I think, don't quote me on that).

Here's the caption from their website:


Sprunggruppe der NVA
Lt. Befehl wurde die Ausbildung der NVA am 28.Sept.1990 eingestellt. Unsere Einheit, eine der wenigen, welche überhaupt noch ausbildeten, befand sich zu dem Zeitpunkt in der FJAB-40 in Burg im Sprunglager. Das Bild zeigt die letzte Sprunggruppe der NVA. Unmittelbar vor Überführung des Hubschraubers zum Heimatstandort wurde der "letzte Fallschirmsprung der NVA-Geschichte" durch diese Angehörigen (Offiziere, Unteroffiziere und Soldaten) der SAklK-5 durchgeführt.
Die Spezialaufklärer waren: Gefr. Schönerstedt, Stfw. Briest, Gefr. Umblia, Hptm. Kersten, Gefr. ?, Ltn. Schwarz, Gefr. Krüger, Fw. Hupach, Gefr. Kramer, Olt. Berger

Hopfully some of the germans on the forum can fill in the details.
