That's not propaganda, it is just a funny patriotic cartoon for kids, very popular in Cuba in the 1980s. It is supposed to be funny, has jokes and funny sketches. The main character in the series is Elpidio Valdes, a Cuban independence fighter that kicks the Spaniard's asses! ;)

Man, that's a cartoon, or put it this way, it is an animated comic. So it should not be taken seriously at all :)

Real propaganda is:

No. But killing with a gun and killing with a big ass knife are way different.

Agree, though the final outcome is the same.

In the "El Machete" cartoon Elpidio says (and it is described in a charicaturistic way) is that the reason machetes were used by the Mambi's (rebels) is because they didn't have enough ammunition to stand against the Spaniards.

Funny poster created by anti-Castro cubans in exile. Escaping Fidel says: "Damn, even Elpidio has turned against me!".
