Israel is one of the tiniest nations on the face of the earth... only about 8,000 sq. miles, 2½ times the size of Rhode Island and only slightly larger than the Canary Islands! It is only 260 miles at its longest, has a 112-mile coastline, is 60 miles at its widest, and only between 3 and 9 miles at its narrowest [from the Mediterranean Sea to the edge of the "Green Line"! [see map below] A very high-powered rifle could launch a projectile right across the country!

The West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem as a Palestinian state seems even more tiny, than Israel is.

And the arabs didn't start the 1967 war.

the arabs did start it , israel just took action first.

They were shellling the hell out of our borders.

they were also massing up outside of israel so we didnt wait for them to come in , we struck them first, and hard

That is impressive, however the US gives Israel about $5 billion US every year, for free. Israel cannot claim credibility for all its achievements, because most of that credit goes to the US. Without the US's assistance, Israel would be only slightly ahead of its neighbors.

And by the way, wasn't there an enormous increase in the number of technological accomplishments in Israel in the last 15 years? Just when thousands of Soviets emmigrated from the USSR into Israel (most of who were engineers)? Hmmm...

Very impressive list but two points:

1) Israel is subject to international law and thus displacing natives of the captured territories by settling Jews in Palestinian land is illegal.
2) The use of the argument "Look how tiny this state is and look at how big the Arab world is. Why don't the Palestinians settle in Jordan/Syria etc?" is equivalent to someone invading your home and telling you to go settle in neighbors homes, after all there are millions of neighbors homes for you to settle in. This, in a word, is theft.

Why have singled out the jews who have won a nobel prize? Do you want people to think of jews as "them"? Seperating out the nations that have won a prize is okay because our nationalities are what seperates us. But singling out jews for particular attention is asking for trouble.

If you show a list of americans who have one a nobel prize the list will be long, it is a sign of a privileged education, which is fine when you devide it like that because the US is so wealthy it can afford to educate their population well enough to become world beating intellectuals, and the list follows fairly predictably the wealth ladder down.

Everyone is used to this, it allowes us to deal with it, americans don't deserve this, we may think, but we really know that they do because their economy is the strongest in the world, they have worked their way up etc... But we still feel some animosity towards them, but that's ok, we don't have to identify with them, we all should in an ideal world identify with those we work with, the people on our team, our compatriots be they muslim, jewish or christian.

If however you show a list with just jews on this leads people to believe that jews are getting a better deal, "jews are our compatriots and they are getting a better deal how can that be?", you break up the team/unit.

That's why racism is seen as bad in the multi-cultural west it works against the system, competitiveness between states is fine that's why the winners in the olympics have their national flag hoisted up and not a crucifix or a star of david or the aum sign.

Bottom line is the kind of information that sets jews appart from other people creates racism, especially if it's is saying "look very few jewish people in the world, but a big share of the prestige". It is very counter productive especially in places like Europe where we are fighting anti-semitism and this kind of thing fans the flames.

That is impressive, however the US gives Israel about $5 billion US every year, for free. Israel cannot claim credibility for all its achievements, because most of that credit goes to the US. Without the US's assistance, Israel would be only slightly ahead of its neighbors.

While indeed the U.S. has had a big part in its assistance, I totally disagree with your assertions that without the U.S. Israel would only be slightly ahead of its neighbors.

First understand that Israel only got any major assistance from the U.S. after it had already become a regional power and that was in 1967 and only after Israel won that war did the U.S. overtly assist more fully as we know it does today.

Secondly its not 5 billion a year but its 3 billion a year

(Yes I know about the loans, but they are paid back and secondly its not a yearly occurrence so the statistic does remain at three a year since the 70’s)

Lastly Israel is a 120 billion a year economy and gets 3 billion a year so while indeed its much appreciated, if for whatever reason the U.S. would cut that off, it would be a hit but Israel can certainly survive and it would still remain as it is today as it achived most of that on its own (and as those achievements in that long list show would not change at all)

So 3 out of 120 is not a sign of any full credit going to the U.S. if for anything the opposite is true!!

So IMO Israel does indeed deserve a lot and most of the credit for what it has fought for and achieved in its modern history, though admittingly it has gotten help from others in doing that as well.

Shalom :D

With or without US support Israel would still be greatly ahead of its neighbors. US aid does help Israel a lot but Israel would be fine without it. Israel wouldn't be the fourth most powerful country in the world just becasue of the US. Also the US didn't always support Israel. Back in the 1948 when Israel was fighting its war of independence it didn't receive any support from the US yet it still won the war. Israel has a better work standard than that of its neighbors which helps make it more advanced then them.

I think Israel should give back all occupied lands to the rightful owners.
No country, state or people have a right to stake claim to another country or it's citizens.

Oh , yes , shure . At the same time , let change the whole world population . Yea , let's give native Indians arms in their national reserves EDIT: Let's make them refugee camps , and let them fight against occupation Americans .
At the same time , let's banish from Ireland all the descendens of Nords that occupied Ireland . Hell they don't belong there , those bleedy Vikings ! Maybe even you have their bloud in you , but hey , who cares ??

And , let's give those 300,000 Jewish refugees from Arab lands to return back to their houses , and give them back the property . Oh , wait , that never ever would happend , yes , silly me . That only work one side. Let Palestinian pay for Jewish massicre in city oh Hebron . Oh , wait , no , again silly me , that should be working only to one side . Why the Brits appologise , that they stoped ships with Jewish refugees from Nazi germany , and send them back , to their death ?Oh , wait , no , it's allowed , continue please .

Let's kick Englishmen from Wailes . Scotland . They have nothing to look for in Glasgow , or EdinBurgh . Free the highlands , Freedom from the Brits !!
Nice touch , the thing . I allready know your pripitive view , and your lack of knowing history . And then later you wounder why many didn't liked UN "peace" keepers ? If you are indeed was one , and not BS .

P.S : The thing , i am still waiting for the proove , of those giant IDF crimes against humanity inside Lebanon . Why you don't prooving me wrong ? Why are you short changing the USA contribution to the establishment and welfare of Israel?

1) Since 1949, the USA has provided Israel with over 94 billion dollars in aid. Not since the late 1960's like you alleged. See table of gifts, grants, loans, aid here: http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/US-Israel/U.S._Assistance_to_Israel1.html

2) The US was the first country to recognize Israel, only minutes after it was officially created in 1948, consistent with a 1922 Congressional resolution backing the League of Nations mandate for a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

3) In the United Nations, the United States did not cast its first veto until 1972, on a Syrian-Lebanese complaint against Israel. From 1967-72, the U.S. supported or abstained on 24 resolutions, most critical of Israel. From 1973-2000, the Security Council adopted approximately 90 resolutions on the Middle East, again, most critical of Israel. The U.S. vetoed a total of 33 resolutions and, hence, supported the Council's criticism of Israel by its vote of support or by abstaining roughly two-thirds of the time.

3) Starting on October 14, 1973 US Air Force "Operation Nickel Grass" flew resupply missions to Israel for a full month for the Yom Kippur War.

4) After the Yom Kippur War, the United States quadrupled its foreign aid to Israel, and replaced France as Israel's largest arms supplier.

5) In 1951 the US provided the first aid to Israel, $65 million to help Israel take in Holocaust survivors and endangered Jews from Arab lands. Within 3 years, Israel's 650,000 Jews absorbed 600,000 refugees from Europe and the Arab nations.

6) And finally, according to the US government, " Israel is not economically self-sufficient, and relies on foreign assistance and borrowing to maintain its economy. Since 1985, the United States has provided $3 billion in grants annually to Israel. Since 1976, Israel has been the largest annual recipient of U.S. foreign assistance, and is the largest cumulative recipient since World War II. In addition to U.S. assistance, it is estimated that Israel receives about $1 billion annually through philanthropy, an equal amount through short- and long- term commercial loans, and around $1 billion in Israel Bonds proceeds."

"Since 1976, Israel has been the largest annual recipient of U.S. aid and is the largest recipient of cumulative U.S. assistance since World War II. From 1949 through 1965, U.S. aid to Israel averaged about $63 million per year, over 95% of which was economic development assistance and food aid. A modest military loan program began in 1959. From 1966 through 1970, average aid per year increased to about $102 million, but military loans increased to about 47% of the total. From 1971 to the present, U.S. aid to Israel has averaged over $2 billion per year, two-thirds of which has been military assistance. Congress first designated a specific amount of aid for Israel (an “earmark”) in 1971. Also in 1971,
economic assistance changed from specific programs, such as agricultural development, to the Commodity Import Program (CIP) for purchase of U.S. goods. CIP ended in 1979, replaced by largely unconditional direct transfers for budgetary support. The 1974 emergency aid for Israel, following the 1973 war, included the first military grant aid. Economic aid became all grant cash transfer in 1981, and military aid became all grant in 1985.

Beginning in the mid-1970s, Israel could no longer meet its balance of payments and government deficits with imported capital (gifts from overseas Jews, West German reparations, U.S. aid) and began to rely more on borrowed capital. Growing debt servicing costs, mounting government social services expenditures, perennial high defense spending
levels, and a stagnant domestic economy combined with worldwide inflation and declining foreign markets for Israeli goods pushed the Israeli economy into a near crisis situation. The “unity” government of 1984, cut government subsidies, froze wages and prices, raised taxes, and took other measures to restore the economy. Inflation was cut from the high of 445% in 1984 to an annual level of 20% for 1986 and 1987. Unemployment settled down to 5.5% for the second quarter of 1987, after a high of 7.8% for the same period in 1985. But the influx of Soviet Jews beginning in 1989 pushed unemployment to 9% by 1990 and to 11% by 1992, and left inflation in the 20% per year range. Israel still runs government deficits and balance of trade and payments deficits, although the gaps have been reduced."

CIA worldbook:

Israel has a technologically advanced market economy with substantial government participation. It depends on imports of crude oil, grains, raw materials, and military equipment. Despite limited natural resources, Israel has intensively developed its agricultural and industrial sectors over the past 20 years. Israel imports significant quantities of grain but is largely self-sufficient in other agricultural products. Cut diamonds, high-technology equipment, and agricultural products (fruits and vegetables) are the leading exports. Israel usually posts sizable current account deficits, which are covered by large transfer payments from abroad and by foreign loans. Roughly half of the government's external debt is owed to the US, which is its major source of economic and military aid. The influx of Jewish immigrants from the former USSR during the period 1989-99, coupled with the opening of new markets at the end of the Cold War, energized Israel's economy, which grew rapidly in the early 1990s; growth began moderating in 1996 when the government imposed tighter fiscal and monetary policies and the immigration bonus petered out. Growth was a strong 7.2% in 2000, but the bitter Israeli-Palestinian conflict, difficulties in the high-technology, construction, and tourist sectors, and fiscal austerity in the face of growing inflation led to small declines in GDP in 2001 and 2002.
Now, where does it say about it being not self-sufficient.
If you meant it depends on importation on natural resources, then all I can tell you, is go back to school and learn some economics.

Ok, and why do you think that a extremely small desert country could be economically
self-sufficient while also having a welfare state, a huge military and a never ending conflict?
It´s not exactly like Israel can export huge amounts of timber to pay for all that.

Eh, Hmmmm... Let's think... Maybe because it's citizens work their asses off to accomplish all that? And don't spend their time in prayers and hate? :cantbeli:

Of course they did. Blocking of Tiran streights by Egypt is an internationally recognized act of war. Israel's preemptive strike on Egypt and it's allies is a direct response to that.

For your amazing historical discoveries, you, Mr. Nielsen, should be awarded. With a nazi iron cross. :bash:

1) Since 1949, the USA has provided Israel with over 94 billion dollars in aid. Not since the late 1960's like you alleged. See table of gifts, grants, loans, aid here: http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/US-Israel/U.S._Assistance_to_Israel1.html

94 billion dollars? Wow. You forgot to say thank you IDFM203.

Personally I feel that without the support of the US Israel would hardly be
"slightly ahead of its neighbours", I don´t think there even would be a Israel
today. And if they still would be around the region would be more peacefull,
and the countries living in greater harmony with each other.

I hope you will get killed very soon.
And your f*** country will get invaded by Russia...or the f*** Terrorists will start a holy war in you country (and belive me...it will come..).

What the hell are you blabbering about? Your statement was: "Israel started the 1967 war". And I said: "No Israel didn't start it - Egypt and it's allies did, by commiting acts of war against israel". Where in hell did I talk about "reasons" and "excuses"? Only Arabs care about excuses. Like when they blow up a bus full of children and then say "Allah made me do it".

Or is the argument going along the line, that the war had already started, before it did officially. In fact not being a six day war?

FYI, "six day war" is just a name. If you count the formal Arab rhetoric, then it should be called "56 year war" and renamed every year.

Right.

Any one is looking for aerospace engineer, with 6 years of experience in software development? (management positions)

Israel is exporting knowledge and technology. (600 written patents used in the American F-16 were developed by Israeli engineers...)

Israel has the biggest number of doctors per citizens - the ratio stayed the same even after 1.5 million new russian immigrants arrived during the 90's.

Other then all that (and much more) this thread has got nothing to do with the IDF, and therefor it doesn't belong to this forum.

What we can learn from this thread is the main reason for the conflict in the middle-east: Arabs are stuck in the middle ages, and they are not ready to have so much progress so close to their home ;)

Oh, and yes - U.S is "giving" Israel a lot of money every year, but the numbers are dropping all the time + Israel is paying back with knowledge, technology and the security that the U.S has a stable ally in the middle east. (+ most of the money is used to buy American products - which gives jobs to American citizens...)

Here is the link that was requested.

It is the offical U.S. State Department Report entitled "Israel: U.S. Foreign Assistance" dated May 14, 2003. Link: http://fpc.state.gov/documents/organization/21117.pdf

1) The $94 billion dollars in U.S. aid to Israel is tax payer money. The money from private donations from U.S. citizens is not included in that figure. It is estimated that private donations add another $1 billion annually to the Israeli economy.

What about those loans you mentioned?. The repayments on those loans are "waived" by the US government and Israel does not repay them. The U.S. government guaranteed up to 90% of the commercial loans. As of December 31, 2001, Israel owed the U.S. government $1.977 billion in direct economic and military loans, and the U.S. government has a contingent liability (guaranteed loans) for another $2.902 billion for the
refinanced military loans and Ex-Im Bank loans, and an additional $9.659 billion in contingent liabilities for the loan guarantees for settling Soviet Jews in Israel.

SUMMARY

Israel is not economically self-sufficient, and relies on foreign assistance and borrowing to maintain its economy.

Since 1985, the United States has provided $3 billion in grants annually to Israel.

Since 1976, Israel has been the largest annual recipient of U.S. foreign assistance, and is the largest cumulative recipient since World War II.

In addition to U.S. assistance, it is estimated that Israel receives about $1 billion annually through philanthropy, an equal amount through short- and long- term commercial loans, and around $1 billion in Israel Bonds proceeds.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu told a joint session of Congress on July 10, 1996, that Israel would reduce its need for U.S. aid over the next four years.

In January 1998, Finance Minister Neeman proposed eliminating the $1.2 billion economic aid and increasing the $1.8 billion in military aid by $60 million per year during a 10-year period beginning in the year 2000.

The FY1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 appropriations bills included cuts of $120 million in economic aid and an increases of $60 million in military aid for each year.

U.S. aid to Israel has some unique aspects, such as loans with repayment waived, or a pledge to provide Israel with economic assistance equal to the amount Israel owes the United States for previous loans.

Military Assistance to Israel

Israel also receives special benefits that may not be available to other countries, such as the use of U.S. military assistance for research and development in the United States, the use of U.S. military assistance for military purchases in Israel, or receiving all its assistance in the first 30 days of the fiscal year rather than in 3 or 4 installments as other countries do.

In addition to the foreign assistance, the United States has provided Israel with $625 million to develop and deploy the Arrow antimissile missile (an ongoing project), $1.3 billion to develop the Lavi aircraft (cancelled), $200 million to develop the Merkava tank (operative), $130 million to develop the high energy laser anti-missile system (ongoing), and other military projects.

In FY2000 the United States provided Israel an additional $1.2 billion to fund the Wye agreement, and in FY2002 the United States provided an additional $200 million in anti-terror assistance.

For FY2003, the Administration requested $600 million in economic, $2.1 billion in military, and $60 million in migration resettlement assistance.

These are cold hard facts and it is shameful that you would take this aid and gifts from the USA and pretend they had no role in your country's very existence. Israel is an ally of the USA.

Very impressive list but two points:
1) Israel is subject to international law and thus displacing natives of the captured territories by settling Jews in Palestinian land is illegal.

First of all, if you don't cound a few isolated incidents, nobody "displaced" anybody. The "palestenian refugees" problem was created by the Arab states. that invaded Israel in 1948.
Second of all, what you call "palestinians" are not natives. This is a proven fact.

Clearly you don't know squat about the history. Prior to Israel's creation, most Arab states had significant Jewish populations. After 1948 almost all of these jews were forced out by these states and accepted as refugees by Israel. The total number of jewish refugees, in fact, EXCEEDS the number of the so called "palestinian refugees". State of Israel recieved no internation aid for absorbtion of these people.

I think it would be only natural for the Arab states to absorb Palestenian Arabs. The resulting "exchange of populations" would effectively end the conflict.
Of course, they don't want to do that - they instead use "palestinians" as cannon fodder in their war against Israel and western culture in general.

Shalom :D

Why are you short changing the USA contribution to the establishment and welfare of Israel? I am not shortchanging I am just putting it in perspective.

Oh and no need to get all emotional here, we are just having a conversation on the economics and military assistence of it, nowhere did I say that we don’t appreciate any help or that we deny none was given, just we feel that a lot of the credit for our survival goes to us and not as you think all of it should go to you.

I mean 1948 and 1967 wars were fought without much U.S. military armaments.

Since 1949, the USA has provided Israel with over 94 billion dollars in aid. Not since the late 1960's like you alleged. See table of gifts, grants, loans, aid here: http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/US-Israel/U.S._Assistance_to_Israel1.html no since the 70’s it has gotten that 3 billion, before it wasn’t any yearly thing and it was mostly a few loans or grants in the millions and that wasn’t don’t very overtly nor was it a yealy thing.

Like I said above, only after 1967 has the U.S. overtly assisted as we know today.

Most of that 94 billion is AFTER 1967 (gee all you have to do is divide 94 by three and guess what…yep it all fits in 3 a year since the late 60’s)

I mean yes since the year 1850 its gotten 94 billion I mean you can go back any year but the fact is that MOST of that 94 is AFTER 1967!!!

The US was the first country to recognize Israel, only minutes after it was officially created in 1948, actually I think it might have been Russia though you might be right.

Anyways I never said that the U.S. was an enemy or not a friend,.

We are talking economics and military assistance here and the fact is that most of the U.S. economics and military help came AFTER the 1967 war

In the United Nations, the United States did not cast its first veto until 1972, on a Syrian-Lebanese complaint against Israel. From 1967-72, the U.S. supported or abstained on 24 resolutions, most critical of Israel. indeed as Israel votes with the U.S. over 94 percent of the times.

Starting on October 14, 1973 US Air Force "Operation Nickel Grass" flew resupply missions to Israel for a full month for the Yom Kippur War. again that is apperceiated but it came as Israel already had turned the tide and it was also flown in so Israel didn’t resort to the use of its Samson option ;)

And finally, according to the US government, " Israel is not economically self-sufficient, well they are factually wrong or rather I think you are reading worng dates or not understanding what you are reading, oh and I would like to see that report for nowadays.

I think it can be debatable from the 60’s and 70’s but for sure since the 90’s (and perhaps even the 80's) with Israel at and now over a 100 billion a year economy, if it did not get 3 billion a year, it would be a knock, but not as devastating as you think and certainly not going to cripple the economy.

3 billion out of 120 a year is hardly any argument for any full reliance, not at all.

Oh and btw and I am sure you might like to hear this, I am actually for a cut in all this aid but that is a whole other issue which I wont get into now

"Since 1976, Israel has been the largest annual recipient of U.S. aid and is the largest recipient of cumulative U.S. assistance since World War II. Indeed 3 billion a year is the most and the next is Egypt.

Oh and we can see how well Egypt does and I don’t think that one billion less can explain how we have a 120 billion a year economy while they have a fraction of it.

no our economy is a such mostly becouse of our actions, though yes we get help as well (that 3 b).

Based on your scanty knowledge of our contributions, perhaps we should have requested a receipt for proof for you.no I know all what you said, but it wasn’t important to any of the main points that I mentioned.

I mean I am not going to list every contribution just like I am not going to list every contribution that Israel returns to the U.S. like all of its military contributions, its technological contributions that is found throughout the U.S. military, to all of its intelligence contributions, to it having bases for military storage for U.S. troops if ever needed to to all of the soviet wepons testing that was a big help during the cold war, to etc…

Listen I love the U.S. and in other posts I have spoken great things about it, though when you say that all of the credit or if not for etc… I am sorry but that is just not accurate and all I am doing is putting things in what I feel or its proper perpective and that is all.

Wow. You forgot to say thank you IDFM203.

no we in Israel are indeed very appreciative and most Israelis love the U.S.

This is all in contrast to the way a lot of you Europeans spit on the U.S. and are utterly ungrateful for the past sixty years of the U.S. spending billions each year and having thousands of its own troops willing and ready to shed blood for your nation (something which Israel does not have nor ever asked for nor ever relied on) which all this ensured that communism and the soviets didn’t take over and this enabled your nations to spend a fraction on defense and to allow your nations to become as prosperous as you have become (which wouldn’t hav happened if there was no U.S. protection and the soviets took over).

I mean it is so comical that an ungrateful euro such as yourself should have the audacity to tell me to be thankful  :cantbeli:

Just a question, how populated is the northern Sinai peninsula and how much of the desert there could be reclaimed as the israelis did in their areas?
Could not a fairly good swath of beautiful coastal land be set aside for the palis?
And NO, I have never been there and I am just asking in general, I mean, truly, there must be a solution without requireing the dissolution of Israel for the pali's to be happy.

A striking photo showing the various IDF standard issue sniping and sharpshooting systems during a raid in the Jenin refugee camp. From left to right - Barrett M82A1, M24 SWS and M16A2-E3 Designated Marksman System. Another sniper with M24 SWS is seen in the background. Note the unique tripod used for the M24 SWS in the middle.

For all Israelis: any worry about the demographic argument? I.e, the exponential growth of Palestinians and the effect on Israel in 20-30 years.

Oh yes. BTW, that problem is, pretty much, the main reason why there can never be peace with "palestinians". They already overloaded their natural resources (not to mention ****ted in some of them), and still continue to multiply like rabbits. No matter how much land Israel gives them, it will never be enough.

"Arab bretheren" can be proud of themselves - they manufactured a scurge on the Middle East.

I didn't say Mousto is a "smolani" - he's just a normal, europe certified, politically correct antisemite.

I just used "smolanim" as an example of people that never change.

And believe me, they haven't changed a bit. They are just afraid for their lives right now, so they changed their rhetoric alittle. But they remain "smolanim".

Every little soldier in the army knows that Galil isn't Israeli invention (well , to be honest , the popular knowledge is , that's it's directly based on Ak ) .

Lahti-Saloranta was a piece of ****. It was too perfectly made, too small tolerances
so it took just a little sand (or grease freezing in the winter) for it to jam. Just like
in the MG34. But there it could be used on vehicles etc because it was beltfed,
with the small magazine capacity of the Lahti-Saloranta it was not possible. Finnish
soldiers preferred captured Soviet Degtyarev LMG´s. I guess it can be said that
it was little like the Israeli Dror LMG that shared the same problems (too small
tolerances, small magazine capacity, being a heavy bitch etc).

No way !!
As i understood , Russian soldiers and Finn soldiers did a little exchange between them . Soviet troops picked up the L/S , and they enjoyed it , as it says in my book , and the finns preffered to shoot Degtyarev, like you said .

BTW , what does "Valtion Kivaaritehdas jyvaskyla" means ??

Wait , i will get a better picture of it for you :

Wait , i will get a better picture off it for you :

Didn´t know that, but well why not. I guess a Soviet soldier with a Mosin-Nagant
took a killed Finns LMG and fired with it until the ammo was gone, (hm, they used
the same rifle ammo of course). Finnish soldiers with bolt-action rifles often took
the PPSh-41´s and PPS-42/43 of killed Soviet soldiers and used them until running
out of ammo. In example:

http://www.sodatkuvina.cjb.net/images/Jatkosota/Rintama/4407KannasKPmiesVuosalmella.jpg

http://www.mannerheim-line.com/photogallery/valonawinter.jpg
Suomi KP31, I´ve heard that in Leningrad during the
siege a simplified copy was produced in limited numbers,
called KF42, but never seen any pictures of it

Valtion Kivääritehdas (VKT), Jyväskylä simply means "The states rifle factory in Jyväskylä",
(which is a Finnish city). By the way, try using some other program with your scanner,
I have MGI Photosuite, works fine and is very "basic".

Didn´t know that, but well why not

Strange , because the down picture says , "Manerhiem line" , and that's exactly called the book where it's says that Soviet loved L/S . Velimir Molotov , "Manerheim line" , and i think that the picture is also in the book . It's also says that Finns took Soviet Tokarev SVT-38 , and SVT-40.

Hey, I know ... how about we start sending Israel $500 billion (or even a cool trillion) every year, and in return you send us a few hundred thousand of those olive-skinned goddesses you've got running around over there? Oh, and along with the money, you have to adopt all of our fat women (which I think is about 70% now  ) and either reform them and send them back, or drive them into the Red Sea.

As for that 70 percent that you want to send to Israel, no way and no amount of money can make any Israeli expect that!!

Now if you want to talk about reform, just send that 70 percent over to any Islamic nation and believe me you will see a lot of reforming going on p-) (as to who will be reformed, well that I will leave up to anyone’s conclusions)

But there was a times , that i had a dark allience with "Noobles" .
Hey what’s a “shiryonear” ever doing smoking “nubles”? ;) for I thought that its confined only to “Nachlauim” (soldiers in Nachal or in english, Nahal ;) ) oh and don’t even start with me, I don’t smoke at all :D

Oh yes. BTW, that problem is, pretty much, the main reason why there can never be peace with "palestinians". They already overloaded their natural resources (not to mention ****ted in some of them), and still continue to multiply like rabbits. No matter how much land Israel gives them, it will never be enough.

I would say that it isn't a problem of there being too many Palestinians but the fact that the Palestinians keep teaching their kids that Jews are bad and that you should kill them.

It's weird how russian and germans covetted each other's SMG's more than their own sometimes - germans preffered Ppsh41 to their own and the captured ammo was plenty and russian regular units (mostly razvedchics) carried MP40's. Use of captured small arms was not at all rare in both Russian and German armies.

In case of L/S - russians didn't really have a LMG with same characteristics and neither did the finns have an alternative to Degtyarev. I'm sure it was not the case of a russian machine gunner discarding his DPM in favor of L/S - I'm sure a Soviet rifleman would have loved anything as additional firepower in his trench and visa versa :) Allocation of MG's to rifle squads was less than desired and importance of SMG's was not realized until after the Finnish debacle

Mmm....Israel plays basketball and football in European leagues they also compete in Eurovision I think I see a trend coming on. ;)First of all the proper way to say what you said is that Israel wins in... and wins in that... ;)

Secondly the trend is that if we win too much well the trend would be up and well in that case we will next go for the NBA title and to the Grammies ;) and not a continuation of winning in what is admittingly an amateurish league or amateur song contests that are found in Europe p-)

Thirdly to cut, yeah we don’t either....so what, no one does and as such that is why there was a fair playing field.

With interest being all equal or close to it, Israel’s win is IMO not to be diminished from an European viewpoint such as yourself because you claim there is little interest in Europe which I don’t think so but even so that is a premier basketball tournament for Europe and well Israel are champions (even though in truth I personally couldn’t care two ****s if we won or lost or even if we played in it…..but that is just me ;) )
