LONDON, October 23 (IranMania) - Iran’s Saipa Diesel Co will in the next month begin exports of its homemade Volvo trucks abroad. The trucks are valued at around €130 mln, an official with one of the nation’s major auto makers noted, MNA reported.
Based on an earlier agreement reached with the parent company, Iran’s truck manufacturer is planning to export 2,000 FM12, FM9, FH12 and NH12 Volvo trucks to the African markets within a period of one year, the Persian service of ISNA quoted him as saying on Sunday.
Export of Volvo trucks to the African markets will begin in December this year, the Saipa Diesel official announced. He also commented that the company has so far exported 71 trucks to Kuwait and is planning to increase the number to 200 by the yearend (Iranian year ends March 20, 2006).
Referring to the export of trucks to other Persian Gulf nations, he said that the company was reviewing the issue.
Volvo Trucks delivered its first trucks to Iran in 1934. Since then, 60,000 Volvo trucks have been exported to the nation. Iran imported more than 25,000 trucks from the Swedish company during the last five years.
Producing 10,900 Volvo trucks, Iran is the fourth producer of the vehicle.
Today, Volvo is positioned as the leading heavy truck company in Iran.
Auto industry has great potentials to offer in Africa (http://www.iranmania.com/News/ArticleView/Default.asp?NewsCode=46597&NewsKind=Current%20Affairs)
LONDON, October 21 (IranMania) - Guinean ambassador to Tehran Olia Kamara said that Iran’s auto industry has great potentials to offer at the African countries’ markets according to MNA .
Iranian automakers, in particular Iran Khodro, are capable of competing with the world’s renowned auto makers he maintained adding that one of the ways for the expansion of Iran’s auto exports is its presence at the African countries’ markets.
By designing and manufacturing the Iranian car, Samand, Iran’s auto industry proved that it enjoys high potentials in the sector he commented, adding Iran has taken successful steps in exporting the automobile, ILNA reported here on Friday.
As for exports, Iran Khodro has given first priority to African countries’ markets because, their political and economic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are expanding, the West African nation’s envoy stated.
He also pointed out that the Guinean Republic authorities are well aware of the Iranian auto industries achievements. He said that his country is willing to import Samands to be made in the other West African nation, Senegal.
Germany and France are not the only European countries with deep economical ties with Iran... Even if we ignore the vast cooperation and money involved in natural resources sector between Iran and Europe (interestingly Shell just announced that no sanctions will stop them from joining the project of sending Iranian natural gas to UAE), there is an ever growing (latest figure was 11.6% growth rate) economical ties between Iran and Europe... Iran currently is the 28th business partner for EU but it has major ties with major EU countries to the point that Iran's sanctions could leave more than 10,000 Germans jobless..
anyways here is the set of pictures for Iranian cars ready for export to African and Middle Eastern markets:
