Korean equivalent of the american NTC. Currently available for battalion level training. Expected to be expanded into a regimental/division level training capacity.

Using MILES and various surveillance and communications system, KTCT simulates battle field conditions such as artillery and chemical attacks. All situations are processed real time and results are handed out almost instantly. i.e. if your truck coming in with your rations is hit you don't get any till the next shipment can arrive and so on.

===EQUIPMENTS====

Why the bodybag exercise?

they're KIA, so they are put in bodybags till the next exercise, to give them a more realistic feel for the battlefield.

Nice pictures!

Why the bodybag exercise?

When you're "killed" in an American exercise, you aren't put in a body bag but you are given your last rites by a priest and sent to graves registration for processing. These exercises try to train everyone.

Interesting photos. I've never seen anything like a MILES for a 40mm AGL. Pretty cool. I couldn't tell clearly, but do the Opfor have different uniforms?

Is the KCTC the large complex located just south of the DMZ in the central area where Rodriquez Range is? If so, I was stationed about 5 km west of it in 1970. Beautiful area.

Lots of good memories of the guys I served with, and people I met. Our camp was Cp St Barbara, located next to the village of Baekui-ri, where route 37 crosses the Hantan.

They keep changing the names of the ranges and training areas, so hard to keep up with them.

I think that's the Seung Jin Range where Army and Airforce do their live fire drills. It's close to Rodriguez and has been there for quite some time.

Here's the map. Rod on the left in Pochun, KCTC on the right in Inje.

lol, chaplain must have been busy. We should try that too. ;)

OPFOR wears the same camo, just with olivedrab helmet covers in the pics, they are said to have NK uniforms but I've never seen them.
