The talk has already started. Here's who I think might be running
Republicans:
Bill Frist of Tennesse, John McCain of Arizona, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush

Virginia Sen. George Allen, Sam Brownback of Kansas, Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and New York Gov. George Pataki. Rudolph Giuliani, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and Gov. George Pataki of New York. Newt Gingrich, Michael Bloomberg, Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania
Democrat camp :
John Edwards, Hillary Clinton

Joe Biden, Gen. Wesley Clark, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh, Gov Phil Bredesen of Tennessee, Kerry and former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner.
Others (Thrid Party):
Michael Badnarik from the Libertarian Party
Ralph Nader for some Reform or Independant Party
Condi says she doesn't want it, Hillary comes with a lot of baggage, McCain looks one of the strongest, I'm not sure if Al-Gore is running.

When was that list made? A lot of those names clearly don't belong.
On the R side: Frist blew his chances with the Schiavo fiasco, Jeb Bush has the wrong last name, Allen lost his Senate seat, Santorum... 'nuff said, Gingrich becomes unhinged under pressure, Rice's last name might as well be Bush.
For the Dems: At least Kerry's not on your list . Bush having to hand off the White House to a President Gore in '08 does have a poetic justice about it.

These two articles are a little more up-to-date
The end of the midterm election marks the official start of a 2008 presidential campaign that promises to be the most unpredictable and wide open White House contest in modern politics

Another Bush? Even if he ran I think people have had enough of that family. They've had enough of the Clintons as well. McCain is pretty solid but I think we'll be seeing younger, newer or more populist faces on the ticket. Gore might have another go, Obama may jump in and Edwards is not out for the count. Clark I'd like to see but I can't imagine him getting the nomination. But also Giuliani seems a pretty reasonable guy and well-liked. We may even see that Allen guy make a bid, even though he lost his seat in the Senate. As long as people haven't forgotten him by then. Dunno much about Hagel or Santorum but as long as they're not tainted by association with Bush, they'll probably have a shot because their names are pretty big.

Giuliani is not conservative enough for most Republicans.

The Reps are not going to run a RINO like McCain after what happened in the midterms
