actually Vance, they don't have to bother with recruitment. EVERYONE is conscripted for manditory term of service after highschool- around 17/18 years old.

The officer wearing the black vest is probbably one of the Givati infantry regiment's battalion COs. Currently, Givati is the only regular infantry unit issued woth the Tavor. The issued versions are CTAR and STAR.
