hello ladies and gents, i wonce again need your help on a paper im doing on foreign aid. what are your thoughts on foreign aid? is foreign aid just giving money and other forms of reliefs to a hopeless cause? and most of the aid comes with strings attach true? so what do you guys think on western nations donating money and relief to places in need like africa or diaster areas?

Foreign aid usually falls into the wrong hands, and makes the rich richer and the poor poorer.

To of the largest donors:
IMF: Provides funding to service loans.
World Bank: Provides funding for development projects.

You might want to check out USAID

Check out microloan programs, those seem to be having quite a bit of success in a number of places.

So true. Also microloans is a great innovative idea. I think its probably one of the best ideas that have come out in a while for assiting the poor.

Donating in response to natural disasters e.g earthquakes and tsunamis is a great idea-problem is there seems to be no effective overview of these operations and money either never arrives from those countries that pledged, supplies and orders are duplicated or the wrong items sent out. But done correctly it obviously saves a great many lives and is surely a good thing.

Fair trade....free trade does nothing but cause a whole new set of problems.
