My spam/pop-up bl;cker won't let me play the vid but from the posts on the forum it sounds like a Malaysian martial arts clip I saw a few months ago (which was dubbed in cantonese)

The second guy who jumps, the hat he is wearing is called a lama hat and originates in the Tibetan Kingdom of Mustang. I think these fellas are Nepalese.
What is that, Gurkha try-outs? These guys are messed.
N-G-F-O
11-14-2006, 11:35 AM
Mate, the Gurkhas are nails, not stupid. Gurkha 'try-outs' run up and down mountains with sacks of rocks hanging off their bonce, not jump like loons from great heights... except those for 16 AAB. Nutters!

Let me confirm that the language that they are speaking is Cantonese, which is usually used in Hong Kong and the Guangdong Province (Southern Part of China) I am to think that this Video was taken either in Malaysia or Indonesia and in the 1970's

This is probably from Hong-Kong.
The Narrator (who is almost certainly the performer) is speaking in Cantonese and is basicly explaining to the viewer the finer points of his stunts and how he performs them.
for example with the roof fall, he is saying that he uses both his hands and his feet and that "that was quite a high fall for me, but no matter what I wont die" (sic)

I can't see the movie , but if there are guys jumping from very tall pedestal , then this is Pencak Silat guys (Indonesian martial art) . There are shocking stuff those guys do , there are more crazy movies of them doing really stupid stuff . One that shocked me when they spilled boiling oil on each other - this is unhumane !

I did join a silat class years ago, but our school wasn't as crazy as the people in these videos.
Video of harmless Silat demo:

There's alot of crazy stuff in silat, some with supernatural elements especially in Indonesia. I've read of black magic units in KOPASSUS. Don't know how true it is but we're talking about being bulletproof without the vest.

very dumb.. doesnt even make sense.
It doesnt make them tough.. it's only proves that their dumb enough to jump from a 2 story building.. maybe if they jumped and got straight back up to their feet.. but the whole rolling on the floor in agony just proves how stupid this little exercise really is..

Correction...
.
Those people you see in the videos are Malaysian. They are from Seni Silat Lincah school, one of the various schools of martial arts in Malaysia. What they were doing in fact are the final test to those who want to become martial art instructor of the school.
Those "would be instructors" will be tested to the maximum, physically-mentally- and of course spiritually. To some people this is crazy...but for them this is just another stage of life-long learning processes of Seni Silat Lincah.
As a matter of fact, the videos had been banned from public review in Malaysia by the ruling government.
FYI, they (martial arts peole) are the fifth-line of defence of Malaysia. These groups will form and organize militias movement in the course of war. Of course, the Malaysian government would not make it official.
The official lines of defense in Malaysia are as follows:
1. Malaysian Armed Forces
2. Military Reserves
3. The police force
4. Civil defence force
The documentary was translated in to other languages for the sake of international viewers. If you would like to know more information, just refer to:

Just FYI: Actually, I read somekind about ninja (black soldier) on a local magazine (long time ago when I was at junior high school) who exist in Indonesia. There was a story, dunno if its true or not, happened in a hot spot region in Indo, maybe Ambon. I forgot where.... It is said that a ninja killed a guy, who has lots of power in that region, in his house with full of bodyguards (40-60) around the house. Guess, the mystery is not revealed up till now... The short story just mentioned that his maid saw a black man when in the kitchen, when she was going out from the kitchen looking for that guy, gone... Nothing... Then she saw her Mr. was lying on the ground died with lots of blood. None of his bodyguard outside saw a stranger came in. Moreover, all of the window are covered with metal net, and still in good condition when investigated. Dunno how the ninja came into the house. Mystery of Assasin....
In my opinion, maybe the training was in Indo, even though I haven seen yet. Cannot open...

The narator is speaking Cantonese, but this clip is not from China
silat is a tradisional martial art of both indonesia and malaysia. Its history can be trace long time ago as early as 2nd or 3rd century AD. In malaysia its history can be trace from the Kingdom of Langkasuka and in indonesia before the existence of kingdom of Sri Vijaya. Both countries Silat have evolve to its condition today by variation of thing such as the introduction of islamic teaching and etc.
any way the clip were taken from a graduation day of Silat Gayung Patani...a malaysian base martial art group at north of malaysia.
