So I have noticed that the Army has unleashed a new slogan "Amry Strong".
Seems that most of the services have gone though several in the past 60 years or so.
What is your favorite, or your funny suggestion for your branch?
What do think of your branchs current slogan?
Since this could go downhill fast, I suggest that you only offer up ones that are from you branch only. We all can laugh at our own branches can't we??
Some of the ones from outside the US should be fun for all.
Could all keep it light hearted please?? This could be fun, like the funny military thread.

I dunno - I kinda like the version that Bill Murray sang in Stripes...don't remember all of it..."Pick a service, pick a challenge, set yourself apart... Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines; what a great place...It's a great place to start"
Pretty straightforward. I enlisted about that time, so maybe I'm biased.
I can only imagine the disappointment of the Marines who enlisted only to find that they would not be issued a white stallion, nor a suit of armor, nor perch on mountain tops with swords shooting out lightning.

I kind of like the new Army slogan, but only when I see the commercial. It is a slogan that needs to be taken in context. Just hearing "Army Strong" does sound a little stupid, but it kind of makes sense when viewed in a commercial talking about strength.
I always liked "Be all that you can be."
Army infantry: Because we couldnt spell Navy. :)

so there is an inside joke in the Marine reserves......about how the posters that are used to recruit always show some cool, high speed kinda action..like a guy popping out of the water with his M16 ready to shoot the enemy on the bank of some stream, spy rigging, or zodiac landings........reservists do not really get to do cool things that.
the air forces new ads show some cool things, Halo jumping, mid air refueling, ect..then their slogan......Do Something Amazing............how many Airforce guys and gals in here get to do those things that they are pushing?
i always thought of the air force as a place to go if you wanted to serve and learn to a skill that applied to aviation for you to use to get a high paying job in the civialian word.
the air force and army seem to change their slogans at about the sametime and more often then the rest.
what say you air force people?

what was the USMCR like?

what was the USMCR like?
we took being Marines serious enough, trained hard (decent humps, lots of range time, worked on patroling, ect...) on the one weekend a month we trained. most of us looked just like actice duty Fleet Marines (high n tights, uniforms squared away). but we slacked off like anyone else would. we never thought we were up to par exactly with the active duty Marines, we knew better. i think we were pushed hard on the weekends we trained so that we wouldnt embaresse the Corps. we would drill in the worst wheather. spent 12 hours in a swamp area, 9 hours in a driving snow storm at a range, all night in a mesqueto infested field (no sleep that nite AT ALL). had to suck it up cause we all knew that the fleet had it worse.
we had several guys come off of active duty into the reserves and they said it was closer to active duty training then they thought it would be, but not as intense. guess you could say that we knew our place, and did what we could to stay true to the Marines.
there weren't any fatbodies in the unit i was in, we were all held to the exact same standards as active duty. that was kinda hard though, think about it....we would live like normal people for most of the month, then have to slip into Marine mode and do a pft or a 10 mile hump.
we got to see other untis from the Airforce and guard, and tell ya what......the ones we saw were like the ones made fun of in the movies. i sh*t you not. cook outs with beer, lounging.......we would sneak beer along, but not drink it out in the open WITH the officers like we saw in those units. im sure not all Airforce or guard units were like that, im not bashing them.
i was in weapons platoon. loved being a gunner. even though the 20 mile hump at SOI with the .50 cal about killed me.
all in all, i wish i had gone active, but thats a whole other personal story.
