These four movies were taken at the April 10 rally in San Francisco, using the "video" feature of a small digital camera. Hence, the picture quality is fairly low, but the sound quality is quite good. The clips are all QuickTime AVIs and are fairly short -- most are less than a minute long. The file size for each clip is shown below, in case you have a slow dial-up connection and can't download large files.

These people are no better then those who would blindly support the anti war bunch. I hate what the states is doing, and although i dont wish to get into that right now, it is important to see that im not following anybody, i am generating my own ideas. I protested against the states involvement in Iraq in front of the US consulate here in calgary, but not because i was following. One of the greatest things about the western nations is the fact that we can scream and swear at our governments when we disagree. Because the other dude doesn't march to the same drum beat as you doesn't mean his opinion is less then yours, or that he is blindly following.

These fools don't bother me much. Like others have said - the pictures speak for themselves.

But what I find amusing is when they're silent. Did they protest Saddam's gassing of the Kurds? Or how about after 9/11 - did they take to the streets to protest that? I think they had a memorial service, where they more or less refused to take sides or be "too political" - as if they had mixed feelings about it.

These people are of course taking advantage of the very system they profess to hate. They're right in the middle of one of the wealthiest communities in the richest state of the world's most wealthy & powerful nation. So doesn't that make them their own worst enemy? They're a joke.

If they really felt the way they profess to - really wanted to effect change, they'd leave the protective shelter they enjoy & go abroad to see how "the other half lives". If any of the protestors in those pictures were to read this thread, they would feel vindicated in their scornful view of the pro-war/pro-military groups. They are not all “stupid” or “gay” or even “fukers.” In fact, some are probably fairly intelligent & articulate. It would be fair to say many are naïve or ignorant of the world outside their boarders. Some are also hypocrites.

Instead of congratulating ourselves on being more intelligent than the protestors, we should identify what their misconceptions are and do our part to correct them.

If the coalition left tomorrow, Iraqis would be left without any infrastructure (including political, military, and security) to run itself and it would be deeply divided along ethnic & economic lines. The right to openly question and protest the direction of a nation and its government are the fundamentals of democracy. Unfortunately this includes the right to be downright rude, hateful and stupid to those of opposing views. To all those that have ill feeling towards the prostestors in these and many other demonstartions in the free world -

I say - let them have their protests. Let them think they are the 'defenders of the weak.' Let them be prejudiced against those of opposite views. Let them be as contradicorty as they want. lWhy?

Because I (with many others of a quiet majority) can honestly say I have done more in 6 years with my country's military in places like Bosnia (3tours), Somalia (1 tour), and many other humaitarian type missions at home and abroad than a lifetime of their protests will do to save a poor Iraqi. I HAVE defended the weak, I HAVE made a difference the life of a poor oppressed little Muslim child, and I HAVE put my life on the line to make sure that the likes of those protestors can continue to protest. My conscience is clear. I can look anyone in the eye and openly discuss the merits of operation Iraqi Freedom in a rational and intelligent manner. But at the end of the day - what really matters - is that we were able to do so and not worry about being shot, tortured, or persecuted because we did. Period.

My school is full of little ****s like these. Some person even went as far as painting a picture of a teenage kid with a anti bush shirt, and got the **** hung in the library :cantbeli:

So im eather going to
A: take the **** down myself
B: get a bunch of pro bush **** and tape it all over the painting
C: take it down, **** on it, and put it back
