Well, I prefer to see the man dead but we shouldnt rush to kill him considering his increased support and the lack of support for killing the man from the real powers: The older Shiite clerics.......

Also, one thing that really distrubed me from this article:

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040413/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_4

It states that the US is now appointing former Saddam security forces of high rank to the new Iraqi Army....This is just stupid. They may know very well how to put down a Shiite revolt, as they did after the Gulf War, but if the US does this, than it is my opinion that we will have no ligitimacy left with the Iraqi people.....

To appoint the Iraqi people's former tormentors is just suicide in my mind.....really really risky and stupid.... a "quick fix" attempt that wont work........ If they do this than I will begin to be very worried about the American occupation....... I would rather see the UN involved than these former regime security people who have probably killed and tortured many innocent Iraqi's.....and who we previously called "war criminals" and promised to hunt down.....

The Iraqi's will know it very soon when we start using Saddams men on them..... they will think of us not as liberators but simply as the next Saddam Hussein willing to use his tactics and even his own men...........and then they will ALL turn against us and it will be finished: The real next Vietnam.......

I agree we need to arrest or even kill those who refuse the rule of law or the Iraqi council...such as Sadr.....but we need to be carefull about it and we surely dont need Saddam's scum to help us.........

This is a stage of the war to step softly and try to give the Iraqi council time to handle it themselves as much as possible.......

Fallujah needs to be taken down because I see no hope with that city. They are the heart of the resistance....but where violence against US troops has not flaired we need to be carefull and cultivate friendships and help them...........if not then it is doomed.....

I am sure that the former soldiers of the defunct Iraqi army will screened to keep the criminals and insurgents from joining the new army.

As far as this radical Shiite Cleric, I don't think he is the kind of man that will surrender. Unlike Saddam, this cleric believes that he will go to paradise as a martyr if he dies fighting the infidels. So he will die hard.
