another flip-flop in Iraq? so now they think it's a good idea after all? seems like the disbanding of the former army was really one of their biggest mistake...

The US military has begun recruiting former officers of Saddam Hussein's military to staff the new Iraqi army, an acknowledgement of the serious problems it has faced in trying to build reliable security forces.

Better to disband it and start new as they did because it will be easier to screen out the criminals and insurgents that way.

Isn't it more likely that Saddam had already weed out the thoughs out of the military, in fear of them starting a revolution against thim?

A little like the paranoid actions done by Stalin.
