I got it from www.miitaryvideos.net and I was curious, whats the explosion and does any1 kno whats going on here. (b/c they are calling for a stretcher) Because it is a short video.

That is from shrek - a forum member (also a Vol fan whic his awesome) who is in SF and currently in Astan. He is a righteous dude and is very kind to share some of his experiences with us. There is a forum, an older one, where he talks about this video. Others may remember better than I, like seoulstriker, but I think he said it was an IED that consisted of a mortar round, or maybe some improvised land mine. Maybe another source for the explosion but I definitely remember it was an IED in Astan. I also remember that he reported that there were no serious casualties from this explosion - shaken up and minor cuts if I rememebr correctly.
Hope that helps, please correct me if I misstated any of these details. Keep shrek in your thoughts and prayers, he is one of the good guys.

Or it could be an old ammunition/mine that had not detonated earlier and now did it because of vibration made by a vehicle.

I would say it was a antitank mine by the looks of the explosion. Had it been a mortarshell the explosion would have hade more sideways movement

Ditto, what was the first cause for the guy to get a stretcher?
I don't mean to be a ****head, but I tried to tell you what shrek said. Don't speculate when you can go to the source. As it turns out my memory was not that great. But, instead of starting off on the endless "its a a mortar, no its not" bull****, I decided to find what shrek said about the explosion. I feel likea little bit of a jackass for mentioning mortar based only on my recollection of what shrek said, for that I apologize. This is what shrek, an eyewitness said about it, anything else is speculation:
Yes, unfortunately terrain and other factors caused us to be bunched up more than I liked, but in these hasty checkpoints it's ahrd not to sometimes. Remember, Afghani's are not known to be big into suicide bombings so we didn't fear that much. it was the IED's that scared us, remember the pics of the Hummer that my friedns was in. I have a video of another IED going off under a hummer as the Rangers arrive. I'll get it to Hood asap! Thanks for the questions guys, always good to know that someone is interested. Remember, we're supposed to be the quiet professionals, which means we don't get a lot of questions asked of us. But I'm willing as long as yall are interested.
The video shrek refers to is the one sierra inquires about. Just sayin'. Shoot shrek a pm about it if you want to know. Sometimes it takes him a while to respond, he's slightly busy at the moment, but he always responds.

yeah, Hank, I don't recall Shrek saying it was anything other than an IED, but my memory is also pretty cloudly. :( I do know that that film is connected with the photos previously on his pbase inbox site.

He is not, but he talks about working with them often in Astan. He is SF (Army Special Forces) but I don't know if he has told us which group he is in. If he has told us I do not remember. 5th Group maybe? Seoul would know if shrek has said.

Seriously, go to his profile and read his posts. He is very careful not to release information that is either not sensitive, or if sensitive that has not already been released.
Some numbnuts named boattail got his panties in a tight and shrek explained why his posting was acceptable under OPSEC or whatever its called.

I can see a edited post for this forum.
At noon, we raided a "panty house" in northern "Quebec", there we found the top leader "Barbie" and his top advisor "Ken". They seemed to be planning the next attack on "Kmart" under the orders of "Barnie". We took both of them in custody. Then my teamate "BigBird" took both "Ken" and "Barbie" to the hummer awaiting their transport to "Walmart".
Yeah...I could see it.

damn, I believe he said that he was in 2 SF groups at different times, but I really can't recall the specific group. (i'm sad that I can't remember :( ). 5th seems logical because they operate in the 'middle-east'. sorry i couldn't be of more help. you could try to PM him.

Damn i wasn't clear enough..I know his profile. Just wanted to say that things he reavel to us in terms of OPSEC aren't more dangerous than sightseeing info from any A-stan promotional booklet :). I like his posts/photos very much....

IIRC he said he was in A-stan with 19th. If I'm wrong it's 20th, because I'm 100% sure he was there with NG SF.
