No, there is probably something hazardous in there, there are more than enough cars in Iceland.

Details:
About the vessels
The big ones are each 2000 tons, can steam about 16-20 knots max in good weather, hangar for a small helicopter like the very small one on one of the pictures.

Iceland won the three Cod wars in 1958, 1972 and 1975.
They were the results of Iceland expanding its economic zone to the maximum allowed in international law. The British didn't achnowledge that and sent their warships.
With the warships in the area, coast guard vessels couln't take the british fishing vessels in the zone and instead used a cutter to cut their nets or trawls off.

like this.
http://www.lhg.is/upload/images/large/30-4-2002-135.jpg
the cutting thingy.
And thus the british warships begun to ram the coast guard vessels, usually though with bad results for the warships because their hulls were weaker although they were much bigger and heavier.
So they sent very large tug boats
http://www.lhg.is/upload/images/large/1036.jpg
something like that one although its Norweigian.
These boats were much heavier and stronger than anything Iceland has ever owned, but less maneuverable. In the last war the British almost managed to cripple the entire coast guard, but then we threatened to cancel our NATO membership and even join the Warsaw pact.., they backed down obviously and we WON.
West Germany also took part in one of the wars, but they were much "weaker." or something like that.

The Icelandic "cod war" was not one of the better moments of HMG. We pulled a couple of old frigates out of the mothballs, added external timber planks to the bows ( just in case we rammed someone ) and sent them out to play a game of chicken with the Icelandic coastguards. Another silly event that could have been sorted out in a much more civilised manner.

Maybe not in Iceland , but we have had three Puma crashes in Sweden, all claimeing lives. Two are still beeing ivestigated, The first took place during an alpine rescuemission, the rotor struck a mountainside while the helicopter was beeing positioned for winching. The direct cause of the accident could not be confirmed.

Some rather more accurate details about the ships:

V/s Týr:http://www.lhg.is/upload/files/TYR-A-FULLU(1).JPG

Skipasmíðastöð: AARHUS FLYDEDOK a/s (builder)

Djúprista:5,80 metrar (keel)
Aðalvélar: MAN 8L40/54 x 2 3163Kw eða 4300 Hp (engine)
Ganghraði: 19 sjómílur + (speed in knots)
Togkraftur: 56 tonn (pulling power)
Fallbyssa: 40 mm Bofors L60 MK 3 (and the cannon)

V/s Ægir:http://www.lhg.is/upload/files/AEGIR(1).JPG
Smíðaár: 1968 júní
Skipasmíðastöð: Aalborg Værft a/s
Stærð: 1.128 Brúttó tonn
Lengd: 69,84 metrar
Breidd: 10,00 metrar
Djúprista: 5,80 metrar
Aðalvélar: MAN 8L 40/54 x 2 3163 Kw eða 4300 Hp

Togkraftur: 56 tonn
Fallbyssa: 40 mm Bofors L60 MK 3

V/s Óðinn:http://www.lhg.is/upload/files/odinn.jpg
Smíðaár: 1960 janúar.
Skipasmíðastöð: Aalborg Værft a/s

Ganghraði: 18 sjómílur +
Togkraftur: 48 tonn áætlað
Fallbyssa: 40 mm Bofors L60 MK 3

As you can see I exaggerated the size of the cannon by 5mm... very bad.
and also their weight by multiplying with 2.
