aw comon, it wasn't that bad.

A bit cheesy, but the fights were alright.

i also didnt like how the overall theme had an "Us (as in christians) vs. Them (The barbaric muslims)" element to it.

well, a little bit, but overall the movie presented the Chechens as muslim invaders who the holly federal christians had to annihilate.

Lately all Russian war movies are made using the same frigging plan, I can tell whats gonna happen in the next few min even though I havent seen the movie. "9 rota", "Chest' Imeu", "Grozovye Vorota", "Proryv" all of them are about a company of soldiers that has to hold out against enormous hordes of muslims that are WALKING at full height on their positions, and in the end its only few guys that survive.

"Chest' Imeu" I believe is the best one out of them, the closest one to reality, and closest one to an actual even that took place in chechnya.

If you want to see a good movie about chechnya watch a documentary called "Chechenskij Kapkan" (The Chechen Trap)

Great song indeed.

EDIT: Yeah, I've watched this video a few times before, and in the end of it you can notice that the camera man gets shot. He says at first :"He killed me, he killed me..." from confusion I think, but the sad fact that he indeed dies later on. RIP :(

i've watched the Marsh Brosok. Poor attack scenes and poor story. But very realistic (reailstic i mean same equipment like in checnyan russian task force) equipment but the bad guys always wear black :)

A grade B Vietnam movie where the soldiers speak Russian and run around on craggy hilltops instead of through jungles and rice paddies?

Hope some higher quality films on the subject are released...

Too true, Too true.

Blokpost (Checkpoint) is a Chechnya movie I recommend. Shows the boredom and fear of war, more so than the actual fighting.

Interresting Vid!

I'd say the first russian war especially on Grozny was perhaps a bit violent and dirty.. not trying to make any point that I have all the facts..

Camera-man comments, at the end of video, while being shot and killed, is the most disturbing part of the video.

i've watched the Grozovye Vorota and this one is the best!!
The Chest Imeu is a big ****....and the Marsh Brosok too...but the bigest **** is the Specnaz....

Out of the "batallion dies in a final fight" series, "Chest' Imeu" is the best movie in my opinion.

Thats interesting that you say that, because i was talking to a veteran of afganistan a few days after watching the movie and he said that 9 Rota very closely depicts what happened during the war. I asked him if he thought the battle scenes were bull**** and he replied thats actually how it happened. The Taliban would march up to russian positions at full height. Its true. It was because they were all drugged up.
