hahahah. i hope so, but it doesn't look good for ATi. their first version will be 12x1 while their 16x1 version is supposed to come out in 6 months. the first nvidia card will be a cool 16x1. :D

and while everyone buys the new **** i ll buy the top of the line products rite now, which will be heavily discounted by the time that card comes out. but seriously, why need a card like that? the top of the line cards rite now can play HL2, thats all that matters?

$300-$400 surprisingly.

a 430W PSU is plenty. and someone who has the money to buy a new video card will surely buy a new PSU.

HL2 could barely be run on the last series of video cards.

(wouldn't it be ironic if HL2 ran better on the NV40 than the R420?) ;)

480 watts minimum if you want to run that card.

I don't play a lot of games so I don't know much about graphics cards. I'm pretty sure my current card is a NVIDIA Geforce 256 and that allows me to play the games I want to pretty well. How does my card compare to the stuff that's now available?

It compares like an old Citroën 2CV with a Ferrari... :D

Yeah, somehow I thought so.

Then again I don't really need anything better, it let's me play Operation Flashpoint and SWAT 3 so I'm happy... Just so you know how out of date I am with games, those are still my favourites. :D

Don't worry, even though I've always got the newest stuff those two games are favorites of me as well. I'm still playing OFP right now, and the last time I played SWAT 3 was about 4 months ago. :D
