Wow Permski..GOOD JOB!! Man you missed your calling as a military liason officer!!!!!

By your post, does this mean that a part 2 is coming??!!! If so, you are the MAN!! (hope that means some more AKM's with gp series....hehe)

Also, on the pic of the Muj with the Ak74 and GP-25 it look like he has some sort of custum VOG grenade holder around his waste.... Is that a standard (general issue) to Soviet forces back during the A-stan was or was that something made in a A-stan/ Paki leather shop?? Either way it looks kinda cool though... Really great photo......Any weapon that can survive the Muj using can survive just about anything!

Also, am I correct to say that the Gp-25 is front loaded? That would kinda worry me with my hand over the end like that pushing it in..... Any news ever of it going off and blowing some poor troopers hands off??? Just wondering.......... Thats the only thing about the Gp-25 I worried about.. Other than that it seems more comfortable to use than M-203, if a little less accurate....

Also Permskii, I noticed that the VOG series seems to have a very noisy firing signature and smoke signature as well...... This would seem to likely bring return fire rather quickly against a Gp-25 user...... Are there any complaints of this and are later series of the VOG smokeless like the M-203??? I know there is that special one but is there a VOG grenade for general use on the gp-25 that does not produce a telltale smoke signature????

Thanks again.....Also thanks for staying around even in face of certain anti Russian feelings on this forum that seem for some reason to only come from the, "cough" "cough" Finnish members

Depends on your position.

If you call our Armed Forces a mob, than I am not in it for the money.

I'm doing it for my country.

What is the maximum effective range on that thing?

Quadrant sight says 400 meters max for area target. Probably around 150 for point targets.

Hey, i dont know crap about handheld guns/rifles, but is it possible to fire the grenade launcher without having it attached to the bottom of a AK or M16?

RomanS
04-14-2004, 07:49 PM
it has a safety mechanism. It has to be connected to the lugs on the barrel. It is possible if you hold the safety lock down, and than fire.

GOOD LUCK lol

Whoever she is, there's something strangely erotic in this photo. Nice blonde in KLMK coveralls firing underbarrel GP... Well, I'll better consult some psychologist about it (hope he won't be a follower od Freudian school) ;)

Ah - and thanks for all superb pics Permskii!

She is a girl that participated in the reality show "You are in the army now" from the Russian side.
Her name is Anna Kiryakova.
There were 10 people involved 5 ukrainians and 5 russians doing a reality show on how to live a soldier's live and bear all the hardships. The show took place for two months in Desna military installation near Kiev in 2002.

How can you own a M4 in Sweden?

Also, am I correct to say that the Gp-25 is front loaded?

Yes it is muzzle loaded. The grenade itself is a bit like a mortar round in that it is completely self contained... there is no snub shell to remove.

That would kinda worry me with my hand over the end like that pushing it in..... Any news ever of it going off and blowing some poor troopers hands off???

That is what the safety is there for.

Other than that it seems more comfortable to use than M-203, if a little less accurate....

Why do you assume it is less accurate? It is rifled and from all accounts very accurate once you get used to it.

I know there is that special one but is there a VOG grenade for general use on the gp-25 that does not produce a telltale smoke signature????

If that bothers you fire from behind cover.

The real importance of the GP grenade launchers is the bounding HE round that gives airbursts at any range... 5 times more effective than standard M203 grenades because the fragments don't disappear straight into the ground.

Q3:How tight this grenade fit??? doesn't it fall out when you point it to the ground...

No it doesn't.

What is the maximum effective range on that thing?

There are two range scales in white (direct fire) and in red (high elevation fire). They go to 4.2 or 420m. With two grenades ready you can fire one round in high elevation mode and reload counting in seconds and then fire after 9 seconds using direct fire mode at a target and have the two rounds hit the target near simultaneously.

The house in the video seems to be about 200-250m. He doesn't seem to have much trouble putting the vog into the hole he made in the roof a few minutes earlier with an RPG-18 "muha" with relatively flat trajectory.
