why does he have british PLCE utility/waterbottle pouches?
.....becuase I choose to put them on him, I just finished painting them and they were right in front of me. Plus all the rest of my US ammo pouches are crappy brand ones. (This isn't a real guy, just in case you didn't notice ;) )
Glad you liked him Falco :D

Can you attach objects like a foregrip or a laser unit to the rail system or is it just to small?

Dragon Models makes a completely Modular SOPMOD m4, you can pretty much buy anything for it. From foregrips to AN/PEQs
This one however isn't as modular, you can take off the aimpoint and stuff, but thats about it.

opsgear is good, they have a lot of stuff, u should also try www.war-toys.com, www.goodstufftogo.net, and atlantictoys.com (they sometimes have loose gear u might need)

how much does this hobby put you in the hole?
ronin2172
04-14-2004, 11:55 PM
that depends on how accurate u wanna get (also on where u get your items from) now that DEVGRU figure whose pic i posted costs anywhere from 80-100 bucks (it is a limited edition from Japan, less than 800 were made, i think) mine will cost less than 60 (although it will not be as detailed as the one in the pic, mainly the laptop and the camcorder) and the rest of the gear won't be quite as high in quality as the stuff in the pic either, but you would have to have an eagle eye to spot the flaws. if u want to be up to date and as accurate as possible it could set u back a lot, one guy made a 1/6 scale tiger 1 tank accurate in every detail! it had to run him more than 500 dollars just for the materials let alone the time and effort to build the damn thing!
Just a suggestion Spartan it might be a good idea to weather your figures if they are "in the field", dirt is the best camoflauge...lol. For "dirt" u might want to mix several colors (olive drab, red brown, or any "earthy colors"). After u get the desired shade u like pour some in a seperate container and allow it to get semi dry ( wet enuff to stick to the brush) then apply liberally to the figure's uni, web gear, body armor, shemagh, boots, gloves weapons. It adds a nice touch, also if u paint your weapons it might be a good idea to show some 'wear'. Before it dries fully (or carefully use thinner) rub off the paint in certain areas (i.e the pistol grip or near the muzzle, basically anywhere the weapon might get some sort of physical contact) and allow the original finish to show through. That is if u want it to look that way!lol. Again good work

That SAW is awesome stuntman and a perfect example of what i was talking about! And i like that CF rifle what did u modify it with?
Spartan i also suggest that u practice on an old uni u don't use or want, personally i use weathering to tone down the contrast between the different shades in most camo patterns but not to completely cover the pattern, unless u want your figures to be real dirty! pay particular attention to pieces painted black as that color stands out a lot (i.e. belt buckles and the like) Also use a cheap brush (no sense in using a fine horsehair brush to do it when a cheap one does the job perfectly)

I have a russian spetsnaz sniper 1/6th figure, but i weathered his clothes, face and all and gave him a weathered ak74, and a bandana to make him look more hardcore, he looks like he is a spetsnaz soldier in chechnya, its prett dope and very real looking.

Yeah but calling people gays and queers as a joke normally doesn't really work and tends to make people pissed off instead of laugh.

And i like that CF rifle what did u modify it Well first thx for the compliment, and I used a very simple can of Tamiya color (for plastics) spray can color light sand. And it must be a flat light sand or it will have a unatural gloss to it. It was actually very simple, and it's the same color i used on the saw.http://www.tamiya.com/english/show0305/photo/nm_rc20.jpg The can looks similiar to this one (but isn't it).

These guys are so cool. Just a damn shame they are so expensive in Australia. :( Tell me, are all the little attachment, weapons, ammo pouches, body armour, helmets.... Is it all able to be bought seperately ?? Sorry if you have said it is, I was more interested in the pics and how cool they look. :D
Might start looking into getting some Dragon figures.

Hmmmm just what I thought....
I know there are a few big Hobby shops around here that sell Drogan figures, I just dont think they sell seperate items. Most of the ones I've seen are all kitted out and boxed up. Might have to do some tracking down.
Thanks for the help anyway. :)
