View Full Version : Italian Civilian Contractor Killed

Sadly one of the four Italian civilian contractors kidnapped and held in hostage by Iraqis had been killed...
From ANSA-ITALY:
"al jaazera announced that one of the four Italian civilian contractor has been killed by the "green brigade" extremist group. A video showed the corpse of the contractor"
"The killing was done because of Italian Prime Minister speak about NOT pulling out Italy from Iraqi conflict".
Guys, that is really sad...maybe this poor Guy R.I.P., I will send a prayer for him and his family.
The four guys were not ex-SF, each and everyone of them were private guards here in Italy ("guardie giurate-Sworn guards",as they are called here", they belonged to IBSA and EPTS private security groups.
I know from direct experience the training involved in those two groups mentioned above, and (please not flame me for this..) it's AWFUL, very amateurish, given the op-theatre in Iraq...they were only four guys trying to support their family in Italy, they all have my utmost reverence and respect for traveling to a very dangerous foreign country in order to collect some cash.
One of the guys had extensive experience as private security for a SHELL oil company in northern Africa.
God bless'em all, hope the other three guys will be released soon :|

musta bin quite disturbing, the video I mean. Aljackoffa refused to air it cuz it was too bloody, and if they wont even air it then it had to be particularly bad. They actually have enough sense to see that it would hurt their PR to have people see it.

another sad day; I have no much hope that the others three will survived! :(
In the end, this is even our war and we are paying the price; but there are so many europeans that think that is better mantaing a low profile and blame the americans.
Sorry guys but we don't quit! We did quit after the Nassirja bombing, we didn't quit afeter the battle against the Sadr cronies and we don't quit now![/b]

As they are pointing the gun to his head, hae has tried to pull out the hood shouting "Now I show you as an italian die!". And they have killed him. This the end of Fabrizio Quattrocchi, the italian hostage killed, narrated by the italian foreign minister Frattini, saying that he has received the specific authorization from the sister and mother of the victim to descrive the last seconds of life for Fabrizio.

May the guy RIP, but does anyone have an objective source for that or is the foreign minister the only source?

I thought it was the italian embassador in Iraq who saw parts of it?
I was just curious if he really said that or if it was 'just' the creation of a legend to honor the guy.

"God Rest His Soul"
I heard that Al JaFu@#heads weren't going to show the video, maybe because our Italian brother was defiant to the end and didn't bend to the terrorist scum!
If I was in power I would put in place somenthing similar to the "shoot to kill" policy the British had towards IRA members, expect I would expand that to the seed as well!
I feel so bad for the poor souls that are loseing their lives trying to help these stupid fucts out!

As the Stalker inquiry proved, there was no 'Shoot to kill' policy.
Nevertheless, if I remember rightly the shooting pamphlet at the time was titled 'Shoot to kill' ;)
If I remember well, once an Ira group was detected by spanish policemen in Spain, so they were vigilated silently because they hadnīt any debt with justice, at least in Spain. When terrorists drove to Gibraltar, spanish policemen told it to british authorities, and few time after that, all terrorists were shooted to death by SAS without even realising what was happening. It was when Thatcher was prime minister.

I didnīt say my opinion about that. What happened was that spanish policemen first tracked them: all journalist knew that, so when this terrorists were killed, letīs say executed, there was a big surprise and polemy in the press. By the same time in Spain the so called "dirty war" against Eta with mercenaries and some actions like british did in Gibraltar were commited too, still thereīre some people in the jail here by this acts. I havenīt any doubt the Ira terrorists pretended to kill many, many people, but Iīm sure that british policemen could got them alive.

Why would we want to take them alive, the IRA never showed the innocent people that they have killed in their time the same respect!
I say an "eye for an eye", they got what they deserved!

I have read the story in Chinese media. It said Italian Parties disputed the policy on Iraq after hostages taken, but then consensus was reached immediately after this brave man killed.

Farrell, Savage and McCann were shot becuase Spanish Intelligence informed the UK authorities that they had lost the IRA car bomb and believed that it had crossed the border into Gibralter (it was in fact still in Malaga). Intelligence also suggested that the IRA would trigger the car bomb remotely and that the terrorists would be carrying the trigger device.
It was believed that if an arrest attempt was made the terrorists would trigger the device. In a high walled enclosed square (the location the IRA had chosen), dozens of civilians, both locals and tourists would have been killed.
Savage was shot when he spotted the SAS/SS team and reached into a pocket, the others were then shot to prevent them from triggering the device. If there had been more accurate intelligence, it is possible that they could have been arrested (and of course would now be free).

Pure BS. They are barely bodyguards with little, or none, military background. Their first, and only, error was been to go in Iraq.

Royal, British security forces also shot many people in cold blood in Northern Ireland. What about Eamon Mc Enspie who was shot in the back while walking through a British Army checkpoint in Aughgcloy in Tyrone, hardly fair to say that this was good policy for British security forces.
There were other incidents besides this.
I don't agree with terrorism in any form but I don't believe in state murder either. Nobody was ever charged for the death of the above man!
I have never denied that some members of UK SF (Security Forces) have acted outside the law. I'm not aware of the circumstances of the case you quote, so I can't comment on it.
I am aware of the circumstances of what happened in 1988 in Gib, so I did.
