apparently the religious society (being attacked in the video) owns a house that the demonstrators have ben illegaly occupying for the last 10 years... now the police are removing them (the occupiers) by force in 2 weeks time...

wow, that was pretty intense.
Those mini-nightsticks probably hurt pretty bad when a big guy is wailing on you. When they were dragging people out of the group like that, were they trying to randomly arrest people to deter the rest from acting up or were they targeting certain people b/c of what they said/did? It is hard for me to tell since I can't understand what is being said.

the first thing the cops say is: "The clock is 13:48 and you are all under arrest"...
they were arresting every single one of them.
they just need to keep control of them.
they would be placed in lines and rows after they get handcuffed, one at the time,
So they would pick them out ont at the time untill theyve got all of them..
...its kinda like fishing in a barrel
...oh, and the batons are made of flexible rubber with a lead core in them.. ouchie

ahh, ok. that makes sense then.
I am all for protesting but it seems that it often gets out of hand (like when that guy ran up to the owners and hit them or whatever), and it is nice to see the police maintain control.

hahaha good video.... dumb kids need to learn how to follow the orders the cops gave them, if they did nobody would get hurt, but they wanted it the hard way, and they got it.

Is OC spray verboten in Denmark, for cops?
These idiots are in same category as anarchist hippies.
But why there were so slightly cops?

But why there were so slightly cops?
Do you mean "why were there so few police officers?"
In that case, do you think that it looked like they needed to be more of them? They hadled the situation very well and the demmonstrators were not violent.
About who they pick out for arrests, as far as I know they normally take the agitators first. So basically the more you scream and shout to rile the others up, the bigger chance you have to become the first "martyr" of the day;)

Its amazing - s_hit bags have the same look no matter where you go.
Now tazering and hogtying a few of the loudest would get the rests attention.
That nose pressure point hurts like a mother ****ing b_itch too, especially if you get your finger right under the nose and then role it up as you bring the pressure on. That guy was screaming for a reason.
Macs.

If it wasn't for stupid people who cannot live by the law there wouldn't be any need for police.
While we are at it, here is an incident from denmark may 18th 1993. Police shot 113 shots into a crowd of demonstrators. They had no supplie of teargas and no watercannons, so IMO they had no choice..

It's quite intresting, when we recived crowd controll/riot training in the army they used the danish polices preformance during this riot as an example on how you shouldn't do and as an example of what happens when you don't do as you are supposed to.
But I thin that the film we saw was from an earlier stage in the riot when the rioters forced the police to retreat. Can't remember that we were told about the gunfire.
Btw. we all realise that it wasn't the fault of the individual police officer, they did what they could wit hwhat little riot training and equipment they had.

Whats the story behind that incident?
There was some rather strange tours around the danish acceptance and signing of the maastricht treaty. They had held a referendum the year before where the original treaty was rejected, but after the so called Edinburgh Agreement where denmark was given four special arangements and after that they accepted ratified the treaty. Some people wern't to happy with that and the riots broke out.

There will be more to follow in this case, I dare to promise. These ultra leftwing nondemocratic troublemakers, where told to leave the house on december 14, at the very latest. If not, the police will by then move in and take them away by force. The troublemakers called for assistance among likeminded anarchists in various European countries to help them fight the police. Also, they have more or less turned the building into a fort with lots of stuff to give the police a "warm welcomming" when they come, so noone believes this will end peacefully...

The Police officers believed, due to a comunication error, that there was officers down further up the street, so they had no choice, but to try and puch back the rioters, despite having no teargas left and being heavyly out numbered, some 15 police officers vs 200 rioters, armed with 22 tons cobblestones.

Let me guess: 22nd and 23rd "Einsatzhunderschaften" (don't know the English word)? Those guys mainly consist of policemen with Neonazi background and are generally deployed when it comes to acting as brutal as possible. Members of these units regularly abuse and humilitate protesters (this is well-documented), and their supervisors usually cover their ass. And no, randomly beating up people isn't "proportional use of force", but merely there to stir up more anger, more hate and more violence against these police units.

It's quite intresting, when we recived crowd controll/riot training in the army they used the danish polices preformance during this riot as an example on how you shouldn't do and as an example of what happens when you don't do as you are supposed to.
Fortunately, the danish police also came to the conclusion that this wasn't the way to do it. Which is why we have been spared of such scenes since 1993.
The escalation on 18. may 1993 was caused by an accumulation of specific unfortunate events on that evening. The area where it happended was paved with cobblestones (10-12kg) and because of work on the road their was piles of them laying ready to use. The police couldn't find the key to the locker with extra tear gas :cantbeli: . There wasn't enought police officers, because the riots had been understimated. The police force had been split. And the line of police officers being pelted with stones couldn't retreat beacuse they were mistakenly told that there was police officers still in the area behind the rioters.
But appart from these specific events on the evning of the shooting, the underlying concept of riot control had been flawed for years.
For years the applied tactics has resulted in police standing in long lines behind shields. A tactic that put an enourmous strain on the police officers and allowed the rioters to pelt them with a heavy rain of stones. The heavy a cumbersome equipment making the police immobile, and the rain of stones would make to dangerous to go forward without it. The individual police officer was quite professional, but the riot concept as a whole was flawed.
After 18. may 1993 the danish police started all over with it's riot training. With new tactics that emphasized mobility and swift action. Applying police officers when locally outnumbering the rioters. New equipment, with protected vehicles and lighter personal equipment. Massive training and better command and control.
Now police from other countries come to Denamrk to learn riot control from the danish police.
As for the 113 shots fired on 18. may 1993. Note that these pistol shots were fired by police officers wearing gas masks, with a heavy shield in the other hand, while being pelted with stones. Those shoots went everywhere. Some of the people hit were spectators, or people unable to leave the area. Bullets could have hit people while sitting in their appartments. The rioters are off course to blame for much of this, and blaming them could easily have been used as the excuse for doing nothing. Fortunately the right thing was done (I believe), the lesson was learned and we now have a police that can handle riots in a very professional way.

The cops were using 7.6mm Walter PK's..
Them PK's have enough firepower to seriously injure a pigeon.. or something of similar size.. :-D
Nowadays the cops use 9mm HK USP, though....
