Wow! Look at the first guy who fires an RPG. The rocket went clear across the small valley and hit the other hilltop! I didn't know an RPG could carry that far, and a rather flat trajectory too!

They self destruct at about 950m. They have a charge to blow them out of the tube but also a sustainer rocket to accelerate them to top speed and to maintain that speed to flatten the trajectory to make it easier to hit a target.

WOW impressive footage... rpg's are cool, simple and great weapons! Can they penetrate a Humvee or a hummer btw? on that same page theres footages of a humvee getting hit, but I cant see if it was knocked out!

And I don't think that this is RPG footage, looks like some kinda of mine or artillery shell to me.

a guerilla fighting against soviet occupation, now how the hell is that terrorist propaganda? Some parts of that guerilla, is today fighting along side the coalition...

Well these guys did repel the Soviets with the U.S. backing. So its not propaghanda, especially when this video is 20 years old.
Some of them may be our friends, (IE. Northern Alliance) to help us defeat the Taliban.
Afghan Mujahideen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mujahideen#Afghan_Mujahideen) rebels was not terrorists. They just fought for their country. Maybe you will also call finns in winter war "nazi terorrists" just because they were fighting againts soviets?
After soviet retreat some of mujahideen formed "Northern Alliance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Alliance)" which helped US forces to fight Taliban.

And flying object at the end of video looks a bit too fast for an rpg round.

theres a difference from an american liberation that is supported by majority of iraqis and installs open, free and democratic elections and Soviet invasion fought against by majority of afghanis. And in the last afgha war the majority of fighting werent btw western forces and taliban but by Northern Alliance and Taliban. Other than that, the taliban supported alqaeda. The mujahedeen didnt fly planes in skyscrapers now did they?

yes tanks and APC's made in the 60's, we all know they cant take out a bradley or a M1, nor a Stryker, the rpg is an old weapon, they dont have dual warheads... so can an old rpg take out a Humvee? I think not... if that would be the case, more humvees would have been destroyed, lots of rpg's in Iraq, and lots of humvees!

I hope you are joking. So you are telling that humvee is armed like tank made in 60's? Direct RPG hit will take out any humvee and if lucky even Bradley. Crew will not die but IFV will need some repairs.

The problem is that some group has taken a video that has little to do with terrorism, edited it and mixed in some music for their purposes. However, the context of the post here is not to promote terrorist activities but rather to see how close the RPG came to that one guy.

Dude, i didnt put it up as propaganda i was just looking through a nother thread video saw this and though HOLY $H!T, if the freaks made it for propaganda i gues it worked, CONSIDERING THEY BEATTHE RUSKIES, so relax i just though it would be cool to see an RPG fly by a guy and a cameraman

This was filmed by one of four guys trained in Afghanistan as combat photographers during the war against the Soviets. The guy who filmed this is the only one of the four still alive. I've forgotten his name, but he was featured on U.S. TV (one of those news magazine shows, 60 Minutes maybe?) not long after September 11th. He was one of the few media-savvy people who knew anything at all about Ahmed Shah Massoud. I can't recall who trained him but, shock and horror, it was NOT the CIA. IIRC they were just sort of given cameras and told "now you're a photographer". It was Massoud's idea to have guys photographing their war against the Soviets and later, the Taliban. So, in that sense, it is propaganda-slash-combat photography.
The news show played his footage, including the contents of that video. At the time it did NOT have narration; I don't know where the voice-over comes from, but it doesn't sound like the typical trash from Jihadists, who always seem to put some raham-didi-dam music and Islamic voodoo chants in there somewhere.
I remember this very well, because that was the first time I saw that RPG shot footage, and I said "Holy ****!!!" at the TV when it was played.

RPG's have accounted for a few Abrams in Iraq. Shot placement, and throwing more than one at it at the same time increases the odds.
Remember even basic RPG warheads penetrate around 300mm of RHA.
RPG's are available with tandem warheads, and AP-Frag warheads, and HE warheads, and thermobaric warheads, they are very versatile.
I suggest you do a bit more research before making such definite statements.

My Ukrainian buddies stayed at Al Kut and it wasn't as peaceful as you describe. They even had to kill a few of the shiite hot shots which they regret to have ever done. In fact they regret they have ever visited that hole.

Indeed, a terrorist is someone who commits terrorist acts. Simply by fighting another armed force you're not a terrorist. You're a combatant, regardless your motive. If you're part of a group that has an political agenda and uses different methods (ied, ambushes, civilian targets etc.) besides fighting another force openly you can be labeled terrorist, no doubt. People can label the iraqi insurgency terrorists. But calling every islamic combatant in the last 30 years terrorist is ridiculous. This way of thinking, (illegal?) combatant = terrorist is quite new. I remember that not too long ago you needed to belong to a terrorist group to be labeled terrorist. A word loses it's power if it's watered down.
What happened to the word Guerilla? I think just merging different word definitions is dumbing down the issue. That's populism, PR, feeding the media with simple words.
