STEP 4
Be sure to:

Write in a caption for your photo.
Choose whether or not you want the photo to be part of your PRIVATE collection or available for PUBLIC viewing
at the Picture Hangar (http://www.onpoi.net/ah) website.
Select the appropriate CATEGORY by using the drop-down menu.

Then, click on the UPLOAD PICTURE button.

http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/77_1081589772_finalweb4.jpg

The file is now “uploading.” Please wait while the Picture Hangar (http://www.picturehangar.com) website processes your new file.

The Picture Hangar (http://www.picturehangar.com) system will show you the following confirmation screen after your file has been successfully uploaded:
http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/77_1081311212_finalweb5.jpg

After a few seconds, you will be automatically re-directed to your personal collection at the Picture Hangar (www.picturehangar.com).

This is an example of the My Collection webpage:

Congratulations! At this point, your file is uploaded and successfully added to your personal collection at the Picture Hangar (http://www.picturehangar.com) website.

How to…add the image to your message:

Take a look at your personal collection. Notice that the Picture Hangar (http://www.onpoi.net/ah) website automatically assigns the following for each file that you upload:

a web address (“Raw link”)
an Image tag
a Caption tag
a Thumbnail tag

The “Image tag” [ img ] is what you’ll need in order to add the image to your posts on bulletin boards.

Please click on the [ image ] link.

http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/77_1081311153_finalweb7.jpg

After you’ve clicked on the [ image ] link, notice that the appropriate [ img ] tag is provided for you in the code box.
Just highlight everything in the code box and copy the text (CTRL+C).

http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/77_1081310066_finalweb8.jpg

Now, simply paste (CTRL+V) the “Image tag” into the forum post that you are writing.

When you submit your new post, the image will appear within your message exactly where you placed it.

This screenshot shows you how I included my example image, which you will see at the bottom of this tutorial. I typed the words “My Example Image,” moved my cursor down to the next line, then pasted the Image tag that belonged to the picture:

Thank you, Ballistic. <salute>

I'm receiving some questions already...

Here is some additional information:
There aren't any bandwidth restrictions. Each account starts off with 3MB of storage space. We monitor levels each day and upgrade you as needed up to a maximum of 8MB.

If you need more than 8MB, you are more than welcome to setup a 2nd and 3rd account for free.

If you need more than 3MB right off the bat, let me know via the Picture Hangar (http://www.picturehangar.com) website. I'll take care of you.

There's no such thing as a free lunch. So what's the catch?

TBolt

ROFL.

Actually, your lunch is free, guys. :) The webmaster and I don't make any money off of the site at all. It's a project that we're working on; just building it up.

The site was originally created to help the members of our game community (Aces High - www.flyaceshigh.com). The site has been functional for 2 years. And, now we're just trying to bring in some new users & give the website more life. We're always looking to improve things. We care about the site and want people to enjoy it.

Please, enjoy the service. Tell us what you like and don't like. Tell us what you think we should change. We're looking for your input.

Start offering 100 meg for free like photobucket. p-)

Oh and free lunches are possible. We're talking on one right now. :D

Heya, Haiw.

Well, we can't offer 100 Mb right now. But, we are keeping an eye out for a new server. How many pop-ups and imbedded ads do you see at photobucket? Nevermind, I'll just go check 'em out. :)

Actually photobucket is pretty good. I suppose they have the same kind of 'free lunch mission' like you guys. They're, just like you, a rarity though. Only downside to photobucket is the 250 k / picture limit. But anyway, thanks for offering free no-strings-attached pic-hosting.

Our max limit per file is 2MB. woot

It's our pleasure. We're military-type game fans. That's why we thought militaryphotos.net members would be a cool addition to the site.

Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

To be honest, I haven't explored the full capabilities of the site. I'm not a massively computer literate guy anyway. Right now it's just hosting one image. If you ever play Ghost Recon or IL-2 Sturmovik, you might have bumped into a guy named...

http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/387_1082079268_platoonsig.jpg

In Ghost Recon, I was the crazy mofo toting around the M-60 (and sometimes getting the most kills, especially in coop games). In IL-2, I flew a variety of planes, but I always lost ;)

I haven't had the pleasure of playing IL-2 or Ghost Recon, yet. IL-2 is on my Christmas list, though. :)

Thank you, Sean. But, neither the webmaster or myself are getting paid for offering the service at the Picture Hangar (http://www.picturehangar.com).
