Opinions please;
I bought Call of Duty and it kicks ass, the game play is excellent, the variety and choice of weapons is great, and it runs like a greased ferret in the most intense of action sequences.
I recently bought the MOH Deluxe version for the PC, and in comparison it sucks ass big time. I'd played the original PS2 version to death and thought it was great, but the MOH franchise seems to have run aground. The graphics are poor and you feel 'hemmed in' by the game world. I hope this is just because Call of Duty is newer and the MOH pack is older in comparison, but i almost wanted to stop playing last night i was so disappointed!

For those of you who have played the later expansion packs, does it get better than the original Allied Assualt? I hope so...

Yup, no comparison. COD is way better.

There seems to be a glut of WW2 games (no bad thing) but i think that CoD is the best. Funny to think they jumped ship from EA to make it

My plan; complete the MOH Deluxe version then sell it on ebay, and return to CoD. Hope they make a sequel...

This is just a stupid comparisson. OF COURSE COD IS BETTER! Do you know why? Because it's basically MOHAA 2!

Yep, cod is the best by far, i can't stand any moh game. just feels hemmed in like you said. Do they make any bots for cod multiplayer? that would be awsome.

i suppose that's the way to think of CoD, as MOHAA 2. All the things that were wrong with MOH were put right. I can imagine the development team getting pissed off with the EA way of doing things and cut and run. Good for them (and us).

Did you guys get the same buzz from playing it the first time?
Did you get anxious about ammo expenditure and try and conserve your fire to what you could hit rather than what you could see? I did.
Did you get cornered by the German infantry with their improved AI and have to fight your way out? I did.

Did you get cornered by the German infantry with their improved AI and have to fight your way out? I did.Nope, they always died before they had any chance of pulling off any tactics. :D

sorry about the dbl post everyone, i got a failure message so re-did it...

Haiw - you kick ass

I meant if your target is a distance off there's less chance of hitting it, might as well wait til it gets closer.

I always found myself cornered in the bunker in the Pegasus Bridge section, as the Wehrmacht troops come from 360 degrees at that point, with armoured support. Breaking cover means death usually. Covering fire, attack the Tiger, more covering fire, reload the panzerfaust, attack the other Tiger etc....

Didn't have any problems hitting at long range. Just don't try it with a SMG. :)

Why hole up in the bunker at Pegasus? It works better if you stick with the FLAK gun so you can take out the tanks at range, and just abandon the gun everytime you encounter infantry.

Flak gun leaves you exposed from all angles though, and eventually it gets blown to pieces, leaving you with the panzerfaust. The slit trenches are quite good though, the germans jump in eventually and you can take em out with the .45!
Climb up on the structure above the bridge and take out the infantry with the Lee Enfield, that's good fun. If you lie down you're hard to hit too.

How could the FLAK get shot to **** if you always shoot first? :D It always survived with me, even at the highest difficulty level.
BTW I agree, nailing the infantry at long range with the Enfield is great fun! :D

The 88 gets destroyed when you go for cover when the lead starts to fly, and the damn thing turns too slowly, allowing for multiple shots in your back! You get shot from across the river too! Damn those Mausers!

i thought it was an unfair fight as i posted it.
I shall play the rest of MOHAA then get rid of it so it doesn't taint my collection...

Just wish there were more country specific missions, like another 8 maps of the americans...ect. I didnt like the country hopping. But otherwise was an amazing game.

If they did a country specific one for release in certain markets, like British forces for UK, and US forces for America etc, it would be cool, might even get more sales.... They're bound to do a follow up, hope it's as good and not a rush cash in job!

I am waiting for the COD price to drop a little bit more before I get it. As for the MOH expansion packs, I have played "Breakthrough." It wasnt too bad, but there were a lot of those "hold at all cost" type of scenarios where you have your trusty M-1 to defend a building or bridge or whatnot and wave after wave of infantry and armor is coming at you. It gets tedious. i have heard that "spearhead" is much the same way. Since COD is now leading the pack, the only way MOH can improve is if they release a pacific campaign version for the PC.

I agree, Breaktrough was a piece of crap. Spearhead was actually pretty good though. Way too short however. :(
