Bought the below rifle at the Small Arms Review show in Phoenix AZ today. Outstanding event with six buildings full of weaponry, militaria, ammunition, etc. (One guy bought a 106mm recoilless rifle yesterday

This laminated variant was $108 total. Evidently when these first showed up in the US a few years ago they were billed as "rare" or "limited manufacture" or some such, and the prices were in the $300 range. Now (evidently) they're not so rare and the price is a third of what it once was. Laminated M44 carbines are a bit more at $120, or $85 for a hardwood stock.

Cool. I have one and it's a good shootin' rifle. Ammo is pretty cheap too.

I got myself an M38, manufactured in Izhevsk (sp?) in 1943, and I love it. Fun as hell to shoot, boy does she breath fire. One helluva kick too.

If in the millions is considered rare, then sure. Nonetheless, it would be hard to buy a better rifle for $100. If you can find a Finnish m39 for $100-200, that is a great deal on a Mosin-Nagant.
