Kimber Ten II series pistols

My friend had one and he didn't like it. Sold it because it kept jamming on him. Even when they put a new extractor and mag. SA and Para makes double stack 1911s.

Thanks for the info, I was looking for a double stack and have heard good things about Kimber and the price isn't bad but I don't like the polymer frame.

I'm looking at both, I've been wanting a 1911 for a while but I'm looking at some .45acp as well. I'm looking to spend 700 at most. I've heard good things about Springfield's XD series.

XD's are good to go. I bought a used SA loaded(1911) for $550. Was a steal. Shoots like a dream and has all the bells and whistles. You can get one for $700.

BUL's are a lot more rare in the in the USA [Charles Daly imports them] Despite this they are very good pistols. At very good prices.

I've got a Springfield XD 5" Tactical .45acp.

I wouldn't trade it for the life of me. It's a great gun and I've shot over 3,000 rounds with out a malfunction.

The Taurus is sweet as well. They are a fair price and have some added features . I'm gonna get one, but Im waiting on the version with the Tac rail to be released after xmas.

$480 out the door.

Taurus isn't a bad company, but I'd go with companies like Springfield, Kimber, S&W, before I bought a Taurus. Matter of opinion mabye.

I'd much rather have this then any thing else I've seen on this thread.

Personally I would stay away from double stack 1911s. They ruin a perfect design when they muck around with the capacity.

If you want perfection in a 1911 then get an SA Professional. Only problem is that you can't even get a broken one for $700. SA does make some good alternative 1911s in that price range as mentioned earlier.

The problem with double stacks is that they are jam-o-matics. The design change causes flaws in the pistol's operation. I've seen too many failures to feed/extract/eject on double stack 1911s to have my life depend on. If you are happy with double stacks and have confidence in them then good on you.

My preference in the 1911 platform is the SA Professional because it is what I shoot and have confidence in.

And the profaning of the internal parts didst render it unworkable when the dust of the land fell upon it. And lo, they did install adjustable sights, which are an abomination unto the Lord, for they doth break and lose their zero when thou dost need true aim. And those who have done so will be slain in great numbers by their enemies in the great battle.

And it came to pass that the Lord didst see the abomination wrought by man and didst cause, as he had warned, fearful malfunction to come upon the abominations and upon the artisans who thought they could do no wrong.

Yet man did not repent of his evil ways, but continued to gloat over these new pistols blaming Satan for the negligent discharges which they themselves had committed.

And when man had been totally ensnared with the plastic pistol the Devil didst cause a plague of the terrible Ka-BOOM to descend upon man and the plastic pistols delivered their retribution upon men. And there was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth in the land.

Then seeing that the eyes of man were slowly being opened and that man was truly sorrowful for his sinful misdeeds, the Lord did send his messengers in the form of artisans who did hear and obey the teachings of the prophet and who didst restore the profaned 1911’s to their proper configuration, and lo, to the amazement of men they didst begin to work as the prophet had intended.
