If anything the second set of pictures mean more to me, it shows the tragic side of great American's that paid the ultimate price so that we can wake up in the morning and continue on with our day to day lives with less of a threat of a sucide bomber or terrorist attacks. My thoughts and prays are with them and their famalies. Their deaths will not ibe n vain.
Thank you and God Bless!

Reminds of what one of the SF guys who, now rarely frequent this site said. Along the lines of "there's a number of people around here now that revel in the pictures of our guns and kit as being what war is all about."

Sad aint it.

Just to let you know my friend I'm not a wannabe, i'm not in the military, I just take an interest in those things, sorry for the slipup. What I said stands.

Out of interest, who are you to call me a wannabe and say what I said was BS? If you're so much more in the know than I am then post your credentials and tell us your military background.

I'm not starting a flame, I just want to know that the guy that is telling me i'm full of crap has a leg to stand on.

edit - and if you want me to find the exact quote i'm talking about I will, I think it was Shrek that said it but I'm not sure, it was from a known BTDT anyway.

What a bad dust! It is A hard work for the US soldiers in desert battle-field, and it is important to keep the sands out of their guns and helicopters.

I am sorry for every single man or woman killed in Iraq and in terror attacks, but, sorry guys, I just don't see the connections between Iraq and 9.11. and just how will war in Iraq help lessening the terrorist threat and not actually increasing it. Can someone give me a reasonable explanation on that? But, please don't say that it was Saddam who organized the attacks in NY, USS Cole,... cause it was Bin Laden, who hates Saddam and Saudia Arabia. the worst regime in the world in my opinion.
I rather suggest ending the Israel-Arab dispute once and for all.

By the way, I saw USS Cole and it's crew just two weeks before the bombing in Yemen, when they were stationed in the Adriatic sea in our harbour.

That is actually true, Bin Laden called for Jihad against Sadam around gulf war 1.

The way I see it, after 9-11, we declared a "global war on terror and any countries that support terrorism." Saddam Hussein's regime supported terrorism. I think that is the link to 9-11. He was not directly involved, but after 9-11, we vowed to take out terrorism where it slept and where it got its bread. The enemy here, is not just Al-Qaeda. It's not just Bin-Laden. It's terrorism as a whole.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

It has reduced the terrorist threat here in the US by concentrating the terrorist's efforts and resources in the Middle East and not here on American soil.

I'll say nothing more... To keep US safe, lets divert the threat to other parts of the world too... I think the whole issue is much more complex. It's actually a thing between Islamic extremists and the Christian world. In case of another economic recesion, like the one of 1929 I believe Europe would soon erupt in fightings between us and very radical islamic people, living in EU. In this way I support US to show them, we are not all just a bunch of pussies. Otherwise I think your (US) methods of work are quite controversial sometimes. And I feel it's very wrong when some say that it's all cause Bush is in power. My opinion is that things are of much older origin, mostly because of you supporting Israel. And remember, Clinton didn't know what to do, when he was attacked. Things would probably evolve ito a simmilar situation if Al Gore was the president.
