Not really new. Just re-activated. The Squadron existed as a CF-18 sqn until 1994, so it was really only "gone" for about 12 years. I remember visiting this sqn a few times as a cadet when they still flew CF-101 Voodoos out of 19 wing CFB Comox. The Sqn painted Voodoo still resides at Comox's gate ( Hawk One ).
